Strictly non-smoking. We guarentee privacy, tranquility and a totally stress free holiday. We are situated in a peaceful country lane and set in a lovely 1 acre garden, surrounded by open fields with fantastic valley views affording clear skies and magnificent sunrises and sunsets. This well renovated, arched doored and windowed, stone gite on 2 floors has a fireplace with wood-burning stove and 2 private stone terraced areas. The feeling is of light and airiness in the summer and warm cosiness in the winter. The central location to so many places of interest, activity possibilities and easy accessibility to ports and airports make it an ideal holiday retreat. We have created modern comfortable living within the surrounding feel of old Brittany. The gite is very clean, well equipped and presented with quality in mind. Visitors have said the gite feels like "home from home". Your party can do as much or as little as they want to. A warm welcome and a bottle of wine awaits!

The prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Euro cheques/bank transfers can be accepted. The exchange rate will be calculated at the time of booking. Long term Winter rentals are available and will include heating charges. Discounts for Long term rentals (summer and winter)are available, please contact the owner. This is an ideal location for house hunting and winter activities e.g. walking and sightseeing.
Changeover day
Saturday changeover day in high season otherwise this is flexible. Please try to arrive after 16.00 and inform us of your expected time of arrival. If possible, kindly depart before 11.00. This is to help us with the 'changeover'.

| Utility Room: | See above. There is a washing line outside and an indoor clothes drying rack. A tumble dryer is available to use in the owner's main house. A solid wooden staircase leads from the ground floor to the second floor. The gite is non smoking. |

| Other: | The gite is fully insulated and is cool in summer and warm in winter. French windows lead out onto the private natural stone terrace at the back and there is a 'breakfast' terrace at the front affording all day sun/shade. A cot and highchair are provided. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
All quality linen and towels (except beach towels) are included in the price. There are warm 'throws' provided for all the beds. The property is cleaned and linen/towels are changed once a week including when clients are staying for more than 1 week. |
Notes on accommodation
A bottle of wine greets you on arrival! The gite is entirely suitable for both summer and winter lets. Logs can be provided for the woodburning stove for October-April rentals at an exta charge. Short and Long winter lets are available (ideal for house hunting/winter activities) prices on request. A welcome food/drink basket is available to order to be paid for on arrival. French breakfast (croissants, bread etc) is available daily if required at extra cost when the owners are present. A selection of DVDs, indoor games and books are provided. In addition to the woodburner there are electric radiators in the lounge and bedrooms. The property is both extremely well insulated and ventilated. Up-to-date tourist information is provided. The gite is suitable for young children. Clients may bring well behaved dogs at an extra charge of £20 per week provided that they are kept under control at all times and not allowed to go onto the furniture. The area is very suitable for dog walks.
Outside
The property is set in a lovely mature garden shared with the owners. There is a boules/petanque pitch (boules provided). Clients have 2 private terraces affording morning, afternoon and evening 'alfresco' dining. Sunrises and sunsets are to 'die for'! There are real photographic opportunities. The garden plays host to several species of birds. Clients have their own BBQ and outdoor furniture (tables, chairs sunloungers, sunshades). There is plenty of parking space. There is a large outdoor swimming pool in Pontivy 20km away. Bike hire is possible locally. There is almost no traffic in the lane, an occasional tractor, cow, owl, or cockerel will be heard. No noise can be heard from the owners' house and clients' privacy will be respected.
The longere and gite are set in totally tranquil rural countryside/farmland. We have fanastic views, clear and open and visitors have remarked on the clear starlit night skies and a feeling of well-being.
Coast/Beach
The nearest coast (South) with stunning beaches is approx 40 mins drive away. Brittany has some of the best beaches in France and we are spoilt for choice even in high season! (Guidel plage is one of our favourite) From Lorient there are long stretches of beach as you head down to Presqu'ile de Quiberon eg. Etel and Erdeven, Carnac-Plage, Locmariaquer and across to Belle-Ille. Many have beach clubs/activities. The spectacular North Coast, the famous pink granite coast, is an easy drive away.
Golf
Brittany currently has 32 courses of great diversity and interest in many beautiful locations, some with ocean views. These range from the exclusive historic links at Dinard to the challenging designed modern Baden course near us. For general information contact Golf de Bretagne 0299 31 68 80. Close by we also have a 9 hole course near Auray and courses at St Gildas-du-Rhuys, and on Belle-Ille. Visitors have enjoyed the beautiful coastal course on the Guidel/Lamour plage coast road.
Special interest holidays
Pony Riding - This is available for children up to approximately 12 years old (weight permitting) providing the children are well behaved and will follow instructions. 2 ponies are available 5 mins drive away from the gite for children to ride under the supervision/instruction of the gite owners. Normally a half hour ride through the estate will be possible. No extra charge will be made although donations towards the ponies keep would be appreciated.
Parents wil be asked to sign a disclamer regarding their children's safety and will need to accompany their children to the stables. Please ask for further details if required.

Distances
Lignol 5 mins drive/half hour walk, bars, small boulangerie/ patisserie, creperie, pizzereria,hotel, church and post office. 10 mins drive to Guémené all the above and more- historic, culture, famous Andouille (sausage) factory/shop-annual fete. A good choice of resturants. Several market towns including Auray and Hennebont. Many local lakes eg. Priziac and vast Le Lac de Guerledan (water sports/fishing) 40 mins drive, also Bon Repos Abbey on the Nantes/Brest canal, annual famous Son-et-Lumiere.
Further details
Banks, doctor, dentist, vet, large supermarket, historic buildings in Guemene. Pontivy: hospital, market, Chateau de Rohan, old town/ancient capital of Napoleon on the Nantes/Brest canal. Medieval Josselin is 45 mins drive, famous chateau and dolls house museum. Historic Vannes with it's old quarter, aquarium, butterfly house and harbour. Nantes, Rennes and Quimper (pottery) are well worth a visit as is Trinite-sur-Mer, yachting centre, the mystical stones of Carnac are an easy drive away. The Golfe du Morbihan (boat trips to islands), several working historic villages. Walking (medieval forests/coastal), bird watching, boat trips, photography, cycling, horse riding, water sports,(kyak, sail, water ski, swim, windsurf), fishing, festivals, Breton dancing, boules and traditional costumes, Fest Noz (traditional fete) sight seeing, eating/drinking. The famous Lorient celtic festival in August is a must. Visit Pou du Fou festival, experience the countryside, rivers, canal, lakes, the sea and the coasts. Some of our visitors have enjoyed trips up into Normandy-Mont St Michel for example and down to La Roche sur Yon. Drive off the main roads and venture to small towns and villages (many villages of character and ville fleurie) artistic exhibitions, historic sights, traditional fishing villages, garden centres, gardens/chateaus, potteries, sculpture, fantastic woodland and stunning coastal scenery.

Pick up a hire car at Lorient train station. Lorient area 'The' next place for property hunters! There are several good places to take children apart from the beaches eg. Pont Scorff Zoo, activity parks, painting pottery, several aquariums and the water park at Loudeac. Enjoy famous Bretagne crepes and galettes (panckaes) with a jug of good local speciality cider.

A non refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. If a booking is made within 8 weeks of departure, full payment is required when making the booking.
