Two bed and breakfast guest rooms in 300 year old Charentaise farmouse and 1 bedroom cottage for 2. La Petite Ecurie is a lovely stone cottage, in a corner of the walled gardens of L'Ancienne Ferme, a Charentaise farmhouse with views over the sunflower fields and vineyards of the beautiful Cognac region. A perfect location for walking, cycling, or just relaxing. A superb Auberge specialising in traditional French cooking, is a 3 minute stroll away. Touring and sightseeing are a joy, with many beautiful villages nearby, and the old town of Cognac and the river Charente only a 20 minute drive.

10% discount for 2 or more consecutive nights stay except in July & August
Gîte - Prices are per week in UK Pounds and include linen, towels (not pool) and "Welcome Pack".
Changeover day
The cottage: rental periods are from Saturday to Saturday. Arrival after 4pm and departure before 10:30am.
B&B: arrivals after 3pm and departures before 10:30am.
Notes on accommodation
At L'Ancienne Ferme we operate a non-smoking policy, with smoking restricted to the outside areas.
Our accommodation is not suitable for children under 14 years.
For the winter months, there is heating by a wood-burning stove, and electric radiators, for a small additional charge.
Outside
The farmhouse and cottage are set apart from each other, offering total privacy. The large gardens are planted with a large variety of trees and shrubs and there are several seating areas to relax in with a good book or a glass of the local, award winning, wines. A barbecue and outside furniture is provided and the cottage has a private courtyard with panoramic views towards Cognac town. There is private off road parking for all guests. The large swimming pool (11m x 5m), is shared with the owners and their guests. Bikes are also available to explore the surrounding countryside.
Coast/Beach
The coast is within a 75 minute drive. La Rochelle 75 mins., Rochefort 70 mins., Royan 70 mins. and Bordeaux about 90 mins. A man-made beach is at Angoulême and it is possible to swim along several stretches of the Charente river within a 25 minute drive.
Golf
2 beautiful 18-hole golf courses can be found within a 30 minute drive - at Angoulême and Cognac.
Travel
A car is essential. Car hire is available at the nearest airports, which are La Rochelle and Poitiers (75 mins.), although Angoulême airport (35 mins.), is expected to open by the summer of 2007.
By road, the nearest ferry port is St.Malo (approx. 4.5 hrs.) or Caen (5.5 hrs.)
By train to Angoulême from London Waterloo via Lille is a very relaxing way to travel.

Further details
With many lovely historic villages around, there is a great choice of restaurants and it's possible to visit local markets almost every day. There is a good boulangerie and bar/restaurant at Siecq (1km). Les Romarins (good local restaurant) is a 3 minute stroll. There are many, many vineyards to visit, with tastings of Cognac, Pineau and very good wine. There are also many festivals held throughout the summer, including the famous Blues Passions at Cognac (July), and the equally famous Circuits des Remparts (vintage car rally) at Angoulême in September.
Booking notes
B&B reservations require a deposit of £30 (or 40 Euros) to secure a room, with the balance payable in Euros during the stay.
For cottage reservation, contact the owners in the first instance. You will be sent a booking form via e-mail or post. Complete booking form and return with 10% deposit. The balance is due 6 weeks prior to rental period. Payments accepted electronically or by Sterling or Euro cheques.
