The chalet is self catered, it has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs, downstairs is an open plan kitchen/dining/living area and a bedroom with bunk beds and en suite shower room. There is a small balcony off the master bedroom and a large terrace downstairs which is south facing and ideal for al fresco dining or sunbathing. The chalet has underfloor heating (downstairs) and a cosy wood burning stove in the living area. The chalet is fully equipped with free wireless broadband internet access, TV, DVD player, CD player/radio, washer/tumble dryer, dishwasher, oven, microwave oven, ceramic hob, raclette grill and electric fondue for that alpine dining experience! The chalet is on the top row of the chalet development, so you can be assured that the terrace is completely private, there are no buildings behind, just unspoilt Alpine meadows and no roads immediately in front, just stunning views!

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in Euros. Can be paid in Pounds Sterling at the prevailing rate.
5% discount for 2 weeks rental. Price includes heating, electricity, water, bed linen, towels, garage, wood for the stove, and a basic clean at the end of your stay, if a more thorough clean is required then the charge for this is payable to our chalet hostess in Isola.
Changeover day
Changeover day is usually a Saturday however we aim to be flexible with our bookings and will do our best to accommodate you.
Arrival times between 5pm - 7pm.
Departure times between 8.30am - 10am.

Notes on accommodation
Underfloor heating on ground floor, electric convector heaters in the upstairs bedrooms. No smoking please.

Accessibility
The chalet is accessed on foot via a pedestrian route and staircases.
Outside
A spectacular south facing secluded and gated terrace accessed from the front door and living area offers stunning views of the Chastillon Valley. Equipped with wooden table, four chairs, a small bench, and 2 deckchairs to allow you to relax in the brilliant sunshine!
There is also a private balcony off the master bedroom on the first floor which offers equally beautiful views over Isola 2000.
Both the balcony and terrace are very quiet as there are no noisy staircases or roads immediately around the chalet - they are near enough for access but far enough away for privacy!
We do ask that you don't have barbecues on the terrace due to the obvious fire risk but you can use the electric raclette grill by plugging it into the outside socket on the terrace.
Coast/Beach
Nice and the Mediterranean are only an hour and a half away by car, so you can be skiing in the morning and sunbathing on the beach in the afternoon!
During the summer months the cooler climate of Isola 2000 is a welcome relief to the high temperatures down at the coast.
Skiing
The chalet is situated above the main resort of Isola 2000, near the Hameau area. Isola 2000 offers excellent skiing throughout the season; suitable for beginners and intermediates alike. However there are plenty of challenging runs for those who enjoy the thrill of black pistes. The resort has invested in over 160 snow canons to ensure that the slopes are always in great condition and because of it's altitude (1800-2600m) Isola 2000 boasts a high snow and sun record.
There are 43 pistes (7 green, 21 blue, 11 red and 4 black) and 22 lifts (2 cable cars, 9 chairlifts, 10 Poma / button lifts and 1 funicular) and the resort is continually updating its lift system.
The Ecole du Ski Francais has 110 instructors in the resort and lessons may be booked online via their website. Alternatively we can highly recommend and book an independent instructor for you.
Travel
The nearest airport is Nice which is only a 90 minute drive by car. There are a number of ways of getting to Isola 2000:

Taxi - we always use Taxi Thome who offers a reliable and hassle free transfer from 1-7 people for 160 euros each way (we can book the taxi for you).
Santa Azur coach company offers transfers from Nice to Isola 2000.
Helicopter.
A car isn't essential in the resort as the main facilities are within easy walking distance of the chalet.
Distances
It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the Front de Neige building complex for shops, bars restaurants etc. There is also a Funicular and Navette bus which operate during the winter season taking you down to the resort. A 5 minute drive from the chalet in the summer takes you to the Italian border with the Italian market town of Cuneo only 75 minutes away. 16km down from Isola 2000 is the pretty village of Isola, which has a large indoor swimming pool complex and some fascinating historic buildings.
Further details
There are 2 supermarkets, a bank, an ATM (this can run out of cash at weekends so best to withdraw money on weekdays), several bakeries and many sport shops in the main resort buildings.
There are plenty of restaurants at Isola 2000 which serve from traditional Alpine menus, to pizza and pasta, to Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. Les Choucas and the Cow-Club on the Front de Neige pistes serve delicious pizzas, pastas and Alpine specialities in a friendly atmosphere.
Ski hire is in the main resort buildings as well as at the top of the funicular (close to the chalet), we would recommend Morisset Sport who offer a discount to our clients.
Booking notes
We accept payment in both Pounds Sterling and Euros.
Booking deposit of 25% due on reserving your stay at the chalet, remaining balance payable 1 month before your stay.
Damage deposit of 1500 euros payable to our agent in the resort on arrival.
Our chalet hostess in the resort will do her best to help you, should you have any problems whilst staying at the chalet.
