Le Hamel is a traditional French farmhouse situated in the rural hamlet of Domjean, a 10 mins drive from the small country town of Torigni-sur-Vire. Domjean has a butcher, a baker, an excellent restaurant, a mini-golf course and a chocolate factory in the nearby village of Moyon. Torigni boasts a weekly market (Monday) as well as larger shops, more eating places and both Champion and Lidl supermarkets. The surrounding countryside is wonderful walking country with plenty of views. The main regional town is St Lo, about 15 mins drive away, with a picturesque castle, river, the National Equestrian Centre and the usual shops, market and restaurants. The coasts are just under an hour away on either side, Bayeux and the Normandy Beaches to the north east and to the west is Granville and Carteret with ferries to the Channel Islands. Ferries and the Fastcraft operate from Portsmouth and Poole to Caen, St Malo and Cherbourg. The nearest airport is Cherbourg (flights from Southampton) and Caen.

Heating by electric radiators is included in the price. One bag of logs will be provided, further bags can be easily obtained locally or from caretaker. 1 well-behaved dog is welcome (extra charge, £40).

Outside
Garden is about a third of an acre, very secluded, with plenty of lawn for games. Panoramic views of surrounding farmland and neighbouring chateau. Patio furniture provided, as are some garden games. Plenty of parking space.
Coast/Beach
Coasts are just under an hour aways drive to either side: Bayeux and Normandy beaches to the North East, Granville and Carteret with ferries to the Channel Islands to the west.
Travel
Caen 45 mins, Cherbourg/St Malo 1 hour, nearest airport is Cherbourg with flights from Southampton. Car recommended although keen cyclists might manage!
Distances
Domjean - 5mins drive to local shops, restaurant, chocolate factory in nearby village of Moyon. Torigni sur Vire supermarket, weekly market, larger shops etc 10 mins. St Lo larger town with castle, river, National Equestrian Centre 15 mins.
