Notes on accommodation
Electric heating throughout all rooms. Bollinger and Cattier overlook the River and have a vinecovered terrace. Deutz, Egley-Ouriet and Faucheur are to the rear of the property with small patios. Parents should supervise children when outside as the garden is unfenced and close to the river.
Accessibility
We have had people with mobility problems stay in Deutz where the levels between ground and mezzanine isthree steps. The cottage was not however designed with accessibility features.
Outside
All cottages have small patio areas fronting them with garden tables and chairs. Bollinger and Cattier overlook the River Marne.
Coast/Beach
Nearest coast would be near Dieppe around 200km. There are llakes in the area providing bathing as well as swimming pools in the towns.

Golf de Val Secret at Chateau-Thierry is approximately 5 miles.

The area is surrounded by champagne vineyards as well as historic battlefields of Napoleonic and World Wars I and II.
Further details
Jaulgonne has a bank, post office, chemist, butcher, baker, cafe-bar, newsagent/tobacconist, haberdasher and gift shop. Chateau-Thierry has three supermarkets with petrol fillings stations and good shopping centre. The area has many restaurants, cafes and bars ranging from basic to 15 in the michelin guide. The river has kingfishers, otters and river traffic and in the spring the nightingales line the banks at night to compete in singing their hearts out. There are plenty of leisure facilities in the area including horse riding, champagne tasting and boating. Rich in historic chateaus, picturesque villages and lovely scenery this area is a tonic for those who like the fresh air and walking.
