"When can we go back ?"
We couldn't have asked for anywhere nicer to spend our holiday. The gite is lovely - spacious and well equipped and the garden is beautiful. The summer planters look gorgeous and the scent of honeysuckle filled our room each evening. Our 6 year old daughter adored the swimming pool. It's all so beautifully kept - congratulations to George & Yvette - thank you. Exploring this beautiful part of France has been most enjoyable - plenty to keep us occupied, particularly enjoyed the horse show at La Michaudiere and Bagnoles de l'Orne is a treat. The chateau at Carrouges is also a great visit. We have greatly enjoyed your recommendations for places to eat - especially the "ouvriers" lunches - I think we tried all of them! Our favourites were Le Cheval Blanc and the Bar at St. Aignan de Couptrain. Hope to return with more family on another occasion. Gems like this should deinitely be shared.

"Le Cerisier- An Amazing family holiday"
We arrived on a sunday early evening, the gites were beautiful and contained everything we could possibly need and more, a real home from home to the extent that George and Yvette had even done a little shopping for us to see us through the first night until we could go shopping the next day, the children headed straight out into the most beautiful garden to run off the stored energy they had from the long travel which was a god send as it allowed me to unpack and settle in without needing to entertain them. As a single mum I didn't really expect to be able to relax on holiday but as the garden was so large and safe and the garden toys endless to occupy the children along with the pool, I managed to completely relax and even read 2 books!! Aswell as the amazing accommodation and hospitality of George and Yvette, the local towns provide ample sightseeing, cafe's and lakes to enable you to get a real feel for the French countryside without needing to travel for miles in the car with little children so days out were even stress-free. Thank you so much George and Yvette (and Hugo the dog) for allowing us into your little piece of heaven, we appreciated it so much and look forward to visiting you again in the future.

"Le Pommier (& area about)"
What a beautiful and tranquil setting this gite is situated in! We arrived late on the Saturday and was immediately taken with the rustic charm of this house and the huge dog friendly and safe gardens which surround it. We didn't realise the shops would have closed by the time we arrived however, the owners George & Yvette were on hand to offer us essential supplies to get us through our first night and we were able to reimburse the next day. The house offers a very comfortable setting and served our families needs well. We enjoyed terrific weather and were able to utilise the BBQ most nights! George and Yvette were on hand to offer advice on the area and assist us in translations at the vets, the local area and when the mother-in-law left her handbag at McDonalds!! A beautiful week in a fabulous location and with so much to see in the surrounding area. To make it even better the dog was completely safe in the large garden and able to explore. We also found that most places we visited were dog friendly and so she was able to be part of our French Holiday Experience. Thank you George and Yvette for looking after us so well and we look forward to returning in the future.

About the Owner
We, George and Yvette, fell in love with France many years ago and spent most of our summer holidays here with our children. Since they are now grown up, we took the opportunity to move here permanently. We live in wonderful rural surroundings but are still close enough to England for our children to visit us and for us to visit them. Our house is next to the gites and if there is anything you need while you are here, we are more than happy to help. If you look at our guest reviews, that should help to convince you that we will make your holiday special.
Year property purchased: 2011
Why this location?
We fell in love with our property because it is in the heart of the countryside and is very peaceful and quiet. The roads are ideal for walking or cycling and we enjoy few things more than cycling to one of our favourite village restaurants and having a fixed price menu (10.50) including cider and wine and then gently cycling home again, often meeting up with friends in the restaurant. Though in the heart of the countryside, there are all amenities close by. Bagnoles de l'Orne is a great tourist attraction and there are always activities being held there during the summer. Not only that but there is a great selection of restaurants and beautiful walks in the town and through the forests.
What are the unique benefits of the property?
Though our house was originally built in the early 1800s it has been sympathetically modernised and has all the amenities that you will need for a comfortable holiday. One thing you will enjoy is the feeling of space outside in the garden and the fields beyond. There are 3.5 acres for you to enjoy as well as the swimming pool and you are welcome to help yourself to fruit such as apples, pears and plums when in season. Not only this but you are more than likely to be offered excess produce from Yvette's ever expanding vegetable plot!
