La Caze Gites are located in a small hamlet,just 2 minutes away from the pretty Tarn Valley village of Broquies; the village has all amenities. The larger town of St Affrique is 25 minutes away. Veiws from the property are simply breath taking. Our gites are authentically restored with many original features but at the same time havng all the comforts of home. Both gites have their own private south-facing sun terrace over looking the garden and swimming pool (guests enjoy exclusive use of both)with views of approx 40km across the Tarn Valley to the Lacaune mountains. Whilst with us you can choose to simply relax and unwind in beautiful, peaceful, rural surroundings or spend some time sight seeing around the small villages nearby or larger historic towns, such as Albi, Rodez and Millau (home to the now famous bridge). If you are feeling more energetic the area is ideal for walking and other activities such as canoeing; horse riding; parascending and fishing can be enjoyed.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.
All prices include electricity, gas and heating. Bedding and all laundry is provided including beach/pool towels. Normal rental periods are per week, Saturday to Saturday but shorter stays and flexibility in arrival/departure dates available in off peak season. Discounts available for longer winter lets by arrangement.
Changeover day
During the summer rentals are per week from Saturday 3pm until 10.30am on Saturday of departure. During less busy periods arrangments can be more flexible.

Bedrooms: 1 large double bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Second large bedroom with 2 single beds. Bathroom: Shower room and separate toilet. Downstairs toilet. Kitchen: Open plan to split level living room. Gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and all cutlery, utensils and crockery. Notes on accommodation
All bed linen and towels (including pool/beach towels) are provided. Beds will made up on arrival. Each gite has a linen cupboard where further supplies of linen can be found. Each gite has a washing machine located in the downstairs toilet for use during your stay. We are happy to provide a laundry service for larger items of bed linen or towels, free of charge. Cot and high-chair, baby bath available upon request. Hair dryers provided. Electric heating for winter lets. We live full-time in the house next door and are available if guests need help or information. Wifi access available in the gites.
Accessibility
Both our gites have a downstairs toilet with wash hand basin. La Cardabelle has level access to the terrace from the living accommodation. La Violette has 3 steps into the gite and the living area comprises of a split level kitchen/living - dining area.
Outside
Solar-heated pool 5m x 10m exclusively for guests only. Security fenced for the safety of young children. Sun loungers and garden tables and chairs. BBQ; Sun-terraces - Petanque piste (boules provided), Table Tennis and large lawned area with wonderful views. Bikes available for guests.
Coast/Beach
Mediteranean beaches 2 hours by car.
Beaches and swimming available at nearby lakes 10 minutes and 25 minutes drive.
Travel
We are located 1 hour by road from Rodez airport and 2 hours from Toulouse and Montpellier airports. If driving from Dover, using the motorway, your total driving time will be approx 12 hours. Use of a car is essential in reaching us and enabling you to enjoy the scenery and places of interest surrounding La Caze.
Distances
Nearest village of Broquies is 2 minutes. Brousse Le Chateau 10 minutes. St Affrique 25 minutes. Albi 1 hour. Millau and famous Millau bridge 45 minutes. River Tarn 5 minutes. Carcassonne 2 hours 30 minutes. Roquefort 40 minutes. Gorges du Tarn just over an hour. Lakes 15 minutes and 25 minutes.
Further details
In Broquies there is a butcher, baker,restaurant, supermarket, hardware store, hairdresser and local wine cave. There is also a post office with a cash machine. There are more restaurants serving evening and lunch time meals from 10 minutes away in villages of St Izaire and Villefranche de Panat. St Affrique has many varied shops and 3 larger supermarkets. For those who enjoy delving back into history there are many fortified villages in the area. Canoeing is available from the bridge below Broquies and other nearby activities include tennis, horse-riding, go-karting, fishing, boating and parascending.

About the owner
Mary and Steve Davidson moved, full-time to La Caze in October 2005. We then carried out the renovation on the barn, together with our son, Keir. After many years of family holidays in France, it became a dream and then our goal to live here. We have worked hard to make a life here and continue to thoroughly enjoy the life style and the beautiful area we live in. Every day we marvel at the wonderful views we have from our property - they are simply breath taking and we love to share them with our guests. We are on hand to give information on the local area and to be of help to ensure that our guests enjoy their holiday to the max - but equally if we are not needed we don't intrude. We love it here at La Caze and we hope you will too!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We were attracted to this part of France because of the stunning countryside and climate. La Caze has one of the most magnificent views we have seen in our travels in France and although we now see it every day we never fail to appreciate it or the wonderful life we have here. Whilst being peaceful and rural we are easily accessible and situated on a decent 'D' road that takes you along the Tarn Valley and into larger towns and cities.
Unique benefits of the property
Whilst our own house was by no means a ruin, it needed enough work doing to enable us to put our own mark on it whilst retaining the old and traditional style of its origin. Being just outside of a thriving village and with others close by, we are able to enjoy the peacefulness and slower pace of country life but not feel isolated.
