Changeover day
In the high season changeover day is Saturday but this could be flexible out of season. The gites are available from 3pm on the day of rental and should be vacated by 10am on the departure day.
Notes on accommodation
Heating, electricity and gas included. Duvets and pillows provided. Bed linen on request at £15 per week per gite. Cots and highchairs available. Fully equipped laundry room. Games room with snooker, table football, darts, boules and bikes.
Outside
The gites are approached by a long drive and set in 3 acres of lawns and woodland. Garden furniture and barbecues are provided with plenty of room for parking. The gites are situated on a quiet country lane and overlooking farmland and marshes. Ideal for families and couples seeking a peaceful, country location.
Coast/Beach
The holiday resort of Penestin is 40 mins drive away offering safe bathing, sandy beaches and easy parking. For a more Mediterranean feel, the resort of La Baule is approx. 30 kilometres away and the beautiful Brittany coastline is easily accessible. The Etang Aumee, a safe recreational lake with beach, is only 15 minutes drive.
Golf
Golf de la Bretesche at Missillac is 20 minutes drive away and is a challenging 18 hole par 72 course, set in 480 acres of beautiful grounds and overlooked by a stunning Chateau.
Golf de Nantes-Erdre and Golf de Nantes-Vigneux both offering 18 hole courses are also within 40 minutes drive.
Travel
Both Nantes and Rennes Airports are within 45 minutes drive offering flights from all major UK airports. St. Malo is a 1.5 hour drive, Caen and Cherbourg both 2.5 hours. Calais is a 6 hour drive. The use of a car while staying at the gites is recommended.
Distances
The local village of Avessac is approx. one mile and the historic town of Redon, where the Vilaine River and Brest/Nantes canal meet, is only 5 miles away. Vannes, Josselin and Rochefort-en-Terre are just three delightful towns well worth a visit and within an hour's drive.
Further details
The nearby village of Avessac with its two bakeries, general store, pharmacy, bar and creperie, provides a convenient place to buy everyday items and Redon, with two large hypermarkets and a wide selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, is within a 10 minute drive.

About the owner
We both live and work in Kent and are ideally situated to travel back and forth to France which we do as much as possible. We have two married children who love coming out to France as much as we do with their friends and families.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We found the property back in 2003 and fell in love with it immediately. We wanted to purchase somewhere that was close enough to visit for short or long stays and this area fitted the bill perfectly. It is conveniently situated for ferries and airports and an easy drive from the Shuttle.
We love the peace and tranquility of traditional, rural France where we can relax and immerse ourselves in the French way of life.

The property is set in four acres of private gardens and woodland, on the edge of marshes leading to the River Vilaine. The lanes around the property are quiet and the countryside unspoilt, ideal for watching birds and wildlife.
