Sunflower Gites offer a range of accommodation with 2 heated pools. Soleil d'Or sleeps 8/10 people in 3 bedrooms and sofa bed in lounge; Moulin Rouge sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms; Zebulon sleeps 4/6 people in 2 bedrooms and a sofabed in lounge and Soraya sleeps 5/7 people in 2 bedrooms and sofabed in the lounge. They are traditional French cottages, set in the heart of the Charente-Maritime region of France. Run by a family from North Yorkshire you will be sure to have a warm and friendly welcome. Soleil d' Or is a traditionally stone built Charentaise cottage. Moulin Rouge, Soraya, and Zebulon are an 18th century barn that has been converted offering a quite rural retreat, with a large heated pool for the swimmers and splash pool for the toddlers, set in rolling countryside covered in sunflowers, vines and maize, it offers something for everyone.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the properties per week in UK Pounds.
Soleil d'Or Soraya and Ikarus will all take up to 2 extra people on sofabeds with additional prices of £125 per person at peak time and £75 per person at all other times.
Weeks are Saturday to Saturday but out of peak season we may be able to be flexable and start the day you would like also if you wish to stay for a long weekend or a midweek break we may be able to help. Longer lets are available in Winter and Spring with prices negotiable.
Changeover day
Changeover is Saturday. Departure time is 10.00am, arrival time no earlier than 3.00pm unless prior arrangement.

Moulin Rouge (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6)

This 3 bedroomed cottage is a recent 18th century barn conversion, still with original exposed beams, Surrounded with views of sunflowers and vines set in the countryside. It has its own patio, shared heated pool and large open area in which to play in. The heated swimming pool is 9m x 14m with a 4m round paddling pool to one end all surrounded with a safety fence. Situated down a quiet country lane just 1km out of the centre of the village of Gemozac, with the beaches at Royan just a 20 minute drive away, and the town of Cognac 40 minutes and the historic town of Saintes is 30 minutes away. Moulin Rouge sleeps up to 6 people comfortably in 3 bedrooms. 1 double and 2 twins, cot, highchair and buggy can be provided upon request. With large open plan kitchen/dining/living area, the fully equipped kitchen has electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, with washing machine in a separate laundry room. Living area has wood burning fire, TV, DVD player and CD player. |

Outside
Outside there is a large heated swimming pool, 9m x 14m, with a separate 4m paddling pool. On the patio you will find a barbecue and patio furniture, there is also ample car parking, childrens play area and a large area for ball games we also offer bikes of different sizes for your convenience. The village of Gemozac is situated approximately 8km off the A10 at junction 36 and is also approximately 100km from both Bordeaux and La Rochelle airports.
Coast/Beach
The beaches at Royan are a 20 minute drive away and stretch for over 40 km, taking in the zoo at La Palmyre and several golf courses. If a day on the surf is what you are looking for, then a short ferry crossing is all it takes from Royan across the estuary of the Gironde. The town of Cognac is 30 minutes away where you can visit many of the world famous cognac distilleries and afterwards taste their wares. Saintes is 20 mins away and is steeped in Roman history with it's ampitheatre.
Golf
If several rounds of golf is what you are looking for, then this is the area to come, there are many courses in the area to choose from, the most local being Cognac, Saintes and Royan all within 30-40 minutes away, but if you are not limited to how far you wish to travel, you could play a different course every day, with 18 courses to choose from in the region.
Travel
Situated just 10 minutes from the A10 motorway, junction 36 the nearest airports are Bordeaux and La Rochelle both within an hour by car. The ferry ports of La Havre, Cean and Cherbourg are all about 6 hours away, Calais is 7 hours and St. Malo is 4/5 hours.
Distances
In the village there is a municipal pool and tennis courts, during the summer there are several horse races. There are also 2 supermarkets, a pizza restaurant/takeaway and several other restaurants and bars. The beaches at Royan are just a 20 minute drive away and stretch for over 40 km. With the zoo at La Palmyre being 1 of many local attractions, along with the pineua! (wine and cognac blended). The town of Cognac is just 40 mins away where you can visit many of the famous Cognac distilleries.
Booking notes
There is a 25% deposit to be paid on booking (none refundable) and the remainder is to be paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival date. Bedlinen and towels are included in the price, but please supply your own beach towels for the beach and pool, bed linen for cots is to be supplied by yourself.
