Chalet Nomad is located in the beautiful village of Les Gets in the Porte du Soleil. The chalet is traditionally built using wood and stone work. It is built over three floors with balconies on the upper two floors. It sleeps 14 in 5 bedrooms and has three bathrooms. There is a large middle floor where the kitchen and living area are located. There is a log fire and an array of comfortable sofas and chairs. On the ground floor there are two bunk rooms, a utility room and a games room that has table tennis, TV / video and various games. As you enter the chalet there is a drying room and a large undercover area. There is ample parking in the chalet's own grounds. Les Gets is an old traditional Haute Savoie village. It is both beautiful and magical and an excellent entry point into the Port du Soliel ski area. It has all the facilities such as ice skating, an indoor pool, banks, supermarkets, a cinema, night clubs and numerous restaurants and bars.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday - arrival not before 4pm and departure not after 10am.

Skiing
The chalet in located in the ski resort of Les Gets which is part of the Porte du Soleil, the largest ski area in the world. (650km of skiing!). It is 10 mins walk (3 mins drive) from the lifts and the ski hire shops. The local skiing is ideal for beginners and experts alike and there are both French and English ski schools. There are also excellent creches in the village.
Special interest holidays
Les Gets has a wonderful lake that offers supervised swimming and a small beach area. At Montriond, a much, much larger lake offers fishing, canoeing and the usual range of water activities.
Travel
The nearest airport is Geneva - 1 hour away. The resort is 550 miles from Calais. Car hire is available from Geneva airport.
A car is not essential.

Les Gets is very much a village, but it does have all the major facilities, such as banks (cashpoint machines), supermarkets, ice skating, a nightclub, a cinema, a swimming pool, shopping, hire facilities and more bars and restaurants both on and off the mountain than you could ever hope to visit.
