Situated in a peaceful hamlet, and enjoying its own 1 acre garden of meadow and orchard, the property is a haven for butterflies, birds and wildlife. Occupying an elevated position, there are commanding views across the countryside. The Perigord region is famous for its wonderful food and wine, and Brouillaud is 65 km from St. Emilion and within a 100km of Bordeaux. The unspoilt town of St. Astier is just 3½km away with shops, supermarkets, bakers etc. as well as regular farmer's markets and a bustling Thursday market which encompasses the whole town. There is also bicycle hire, river canoeing riding and bathing with a very good open air swimming pool in St Astier. There is two nearby lakes with beaches and children's play areas at Lac de Rosier (14km) and La Jemaye (20km) Rouffignac, Lascaux and Cro Magnon are all within an hour or so driving, for the pre-historians.

Le Puits dates from the 18th century when it was the coach house to a nearby castle. It still retains much of its charm with large sitting room and large kitchen dining room (comfortably seats 8-10) both with the original exposed beams. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with large double shower, toilet and washing machine. Upstairs there are 4 attic bedrooms, 2 doubles and 2 twin children's rooms.

Le Verger has been recently converted and maintains much of its original character. The main living area is open plan, with wood burning stove, kitchen and dinning area complete with large french windows with beautiful views over the orchard and valley below. There are two bedrooms: the master bedroom is on the ground floor and has an en suite bathroom with washing machine and tumble dryer; the second bedroom is in the attic with stunning views over the surrounding countryside and has both a double and single bed, with en suite loo and washhand basin.

 

Notes on accommodation
Le Verger has central heating and wood burning stove and is therefore available all year to let. Please contact us for the winter rates (November-March).

Outside
Both houses have outdoor barbecues, garden tables, chairs and sun loungers. Fruit from trees such as - cherry, plum, pear, apple, fig, quince - is available for guests to enjoy.

Coast/Beach
Coast 150-160 km along the autoroute to Arcachon.

Golf
Local golf course at Perigeux 16km away.

Travel
Airports at Bergerac 50 km and Bordeux 100km. Also at Angouleme 90km and Limoges 110 km. Car Hire is essential.

Distances
St Astier is 3.5 km away, Perigeux is 16km. Within a 100 km radius are famous gardens (Eyrignac and Terrasson), caves (Lascaux, Montignac etc) and numerous castles.
