The Farmhouse (4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8)

The Farmhouse sleeps eight people in two double and two twin bedrooms. The house culminates on the second floor in a magnificent master suite with exposed beams and trusses with its own adjoining shower room. The master bathroom is located on the ground floor next to a light and spacious double bedroom with French doors leading to the exterior. A further shower room serves the two twin bedrooms located on the first floor. Also on the ground floor is a large open plan kitchen, sitting and dining room with beautiful exposed beams and a wood burning stove for cosy winter stays. The kitchen comes fully equipped with both washing machine and dishwasher. Leading off from the main living space is a large private garden with patio and barbecue giving access to communal gardens with a large 12m x 6m heated outdoor pool and children’s play area. |

The Barn is packed with character housing an internal cast-iron bread oven and a superb mezzanine above the kitchen/living area. The ground floor of The Barn is fully accessible to and equipped for disabled guests. The property sleeps six people in two double and one twin bedroom. The ground floor bedroom has an en suite wet room which is fully equipped for wheelchair users and those with reduced mobility. Also on the ground floor is a large open plan kitchen, sitting and dining room with beautiful exposed beams and an old cast iron bread oven. The kitchen comes fully equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. To the rear of the property is a private garden with patio and BBQ as well as access to communal gardens with a large 12x6m heated outdoor pool and children’s play area. |

There are many superb sandy beaches within close proximity, most notably: Penestin (20 miles). La Baule (30 miles) and La Turballe (30 miles).

There is an international standard golf course set within the grounds of a chateau at Missillac, a mere 10 mins drive from Thehillac.

The nearest port is: St Malo (90 miles). The nearest airports are: Rennes (40 miles). Nantes (50 miles).

Activities in the local area:
Fishing. The Vilaine River which runs next to Théhillac was host to the 2006 world fishing championships.
Kids - A popular excursion for kids is the Branféré Animal and Botanical Park set within the grounds of a chateau at Le Guerno. Another good day out for the kids is the Parc de Préhistoire pre-historic park at Malansac.
Birdwatching - The nearby Brière region is France’s second largest marshland area and a birdwatchers paradise.
Boat Trips - Vedettes Jaunes boat trips depart from Redon and La Roche Bernard and take in the sights of the Vilaine Estuary down to the Barrage d’Arzal.
Water Sports - Just a few minutes drive outside of Théhillac is the Etang Aumée lake which is a pleasant stretch of water surrounded by woods with a man-made beach for swimming, wind surfing and other water sports.
Gastronomy - The local area boasts literally hundreds of good quality restaurants. Both Redon and La Roche Bernard have an excellent culinary heritage and restaurants for every occasion and budget.

Our flagship complex, Gites de la Tourelle, comprising four self-catering holiday cottages opened its doors in the summer of 2006 having undergone a substantial yet sympathetic restoration. Whether you are looking to rent an intimate cottage or a luxury farmhouse we have the holiday home for you.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Our research has found that when visiting France most people want to rent in a rural setting but one which is not isolated, is easily accessible and facilitates easy access to the regions main tourist attractions. The location for our flagship property was carefully considered to respond to the above criteria.
Brittany is not only an area of outstanding natural beauty but also an area of astounding natural diversity. From the densely forested centre of Brittany, to the beautiful coast line and islands of the Gulf of Morbihan, from the salt marsh areas of the Brière region to the vast sandy beaches at La Baule you will not be short of things to see and do.
Unique benefits of the property
When staying at the gîtes ourselves we love the fact that we are in such easy reach of sandy beaches and the areas main tourist attractions and towns (La Roche Bernard, Vannes, Rochefort-en-Terre, Guerande, La Turballe, La Baule and Rennes) to name but a few.
We love the bustling market at Rennes on a Saturday but returning to the tranquility and comfort of a lovely converted farmhouse or barn and enjoying a dip in the pool followed by a leisurely meal/barbecue on the patio in the evening.
Being located at the centre of a small rural village you really get an authentic experience of the French way of life. The local people are so friendly and welcoming. Each year numerous events and activities are organised by the viilliage which are well attended by villagers and visitors alike.
