Chalet Etoile is a traditional style new build Alpine chalet surrounded by beautiful mountains and magnificent scenery. The chalet was completed December 2006 and as such everything including all furnishings and hot tub is brand new. It is located in a very peaceful setting just above the village of St Jean D'Aulps on the edge of the small town of Morzine. There is just a short walk into the village with its small shops, bars and restaurants; however it is elevated sufficiently to benefit from fabulous valley views. There is an outside hot tub, brand new high specification 'beachcomber 350', designed for 8/9 people. The chalet is offered on a self catering basis for up to 10/12 people, it has five double bedrooms, a large fully equipped fitted kitchen, lounge/dining area, large outdoor covered terrace area, 2 x bathrooms, 1 extra toilet, a storage area, and a car port.

Changeover day
Chalet Etoile is ideal for up to 10/12 people and offered on self catering basis only, though many local agencies can provide catering if required on ad-hoc basis. Inclusive of Bills. All bedding & towels will be provided. Change over day is Saturday.

Golf
The Haute Savoie is a great place to play golf. There is a superb 18 hole course in Les Gets, a 9 hole course in Avoriaz and great courses within an hours drive at Chamonix, Annecy Flaine and Evian.
Skiing
Saint-Jean d'Aulps ski resort is part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, with 650km of slopes the Portes du Soleil is a group of 14 French and Swiss ski resorts, and is the biggest ski area in the world. It covers 400 hectares, 206 ski lifts, and 288 slopes (41 green, 109 blue, 110 red and 28 black, 4 snowcross). It also has hundreds of kilometres of freeride areas. The Saint-Jean d'Aulps ski resort is not linked by the slopes to the Portes du Soleil area, so short car or ski bus ride (10 mins) is required. This means that the local St Jean D'Aulps ski area is relatively quiet, without queues and ideal for families, particularly those with young children. Ski bus will be running for winter 2006/20007 (Balad'Aulps Bus, 1€ per ride) and bring you to Montriond, Morzine and les Gets. St Jean D'Aulps ski area, a 2 min drive from the Chalet, is called ‘La Grand Terche’ and is served by a regular free ski bus. La Grand Terche offers excellent intermediate level skiing.

Hot Air Ballooning: Flights over the Alps lasting between 45 mins and 1,5 hours. Fixed-rope balloon rides.
Paragliding: Flights from Saint Jean d'Aulps station, First flights, weekend and week courses when you can learn to fly solo, First fligt from 65 €, Take-off is from the top of the mountains that can be reached by draglifts at Saint Jean d'Aulps or chairlifts on the other ski-able domains.
Travel
A car is recommended, Geneva airport is a little over an hours drive. Calais is about a 8-10 hours drive depending on stops.

Snowboarding: Morzine-Avoriaz Sector, Equally accessible from Morzine centre by the Super Morzine gondola lift (which is equipped with new cabins), it is comprised of 70km of ski runs between 1000 and 2466m in altitude. This is paradise for those liking the more modern forms of snow sports, as there are 2 snow parks and the new ‘Biotop’ (the first 100% ecological winter forest park), a half pipe, a ‘canyon’ slope and a new boarder slope. There are also and 4 ‘snowcross’ where you can practice off-piste pursuits in total safety. This sector is home to the Lindarets village, a hamlet of high mountain farms, which have been turned into restaurants, to the great pleasure of all good-food lovers, and is the gateway to Switzerland.

Snowshoe Trekking: Enjoy track going amongst the forest with magnificent views on the Vallée d'Aulps, Morzine, the Dents blanches and the Mont-Blanc. Guides available - Half Day Trek 21 euros , Day Trek 30 euros, Trekking by moonlight with cheese fondue in mountain chalet 33 - 35 euros Snowshoe trek and overnight stay in a refuge or igloo (adults only)
