Montauroux is the first of the high level Esterel Mountain range villages. The village centre is nearby and locally there several good walks. There are panoramic views of the Esteral Valley from the house and the pool. Cannes, Nice and St. Tropez are all within easy reach as is the Gorge du Verdon. Championship golf at the nearby Four Seasons. Water sports and swimming in Lac St Cassien.

Changeover day
Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday with a departure time no later than 1200. Other days are considered depending upon availablility. Guests are met at the house on arrival and on departure. Local enquiries dealt with by an English speaking agent.

Notes on accommodation
The property is on the mountain side and is therefore spread over several terraces. The swimming pool is two terraces below the house with the terrace completely fenced off for child safety purposes. The property would be unsuitable for those who have difficulties with stairs.
Outside
Private swimming pool (10x5 metres) with Roman walk in steps. Sun-loungers, pergola and palm trees for shade, portable barbecue. In the cooler months (Sept-May) the pool can be heated (for an additonal £50 per week).
Coast/Beach
Lac St Cassien provides swimming and water sports activities about 10 minutes drive away. Sandy beaches can be found at Frejus(20 minute drive), St Raphael (30 minute drive), Cannes (30 minute drive). St Tropez is 45 minutes drive.
Golf
About 5 miles away is the Championship golf course of the Four Seasons near Fayence.
Travel
Nice airport is 45 mins drive, Toulon airport is 80 minutes and Marseille airport is 90 mins. Use of car hire is recommended.
Distances
The village centre is 5 minutes walk. The perched village of Callian is a 5 minute drive whilst the town of Fayence is 10 minutes away. Cannes is accessible via the A8 motorway within 30 minutes as are the surrounding villages of Biot (glass-blowing) and Mougins (fine restaurants).
Further details
Around the picturesque village square can be found the baker, grocer, butcher, pharmacy etc. There is a bank and an ATM together with a post office. The village cinema is one of a few in the whole of Provence to have regular showings in English. Restaurants and Auberges to suit all tastes and budgets can be found locally in and around Montauroux.
Booking notes
Bookings can be made either by email or by fax with a deposit of 25% payable by cheque or bankers draft. The balance is to be settled 4 weeks prior to the travel period. If towels/linen is required then these can be arranged with four weeks' notice. A refundable bond of £100 is required.
