Although only 2 minutes drive from all the amenities and restaurants/cafes of Riberac, Chez Faye is a truly peaceful and tranquil spot in the heart of a small French farming community. Easily accessible, the house is full of character, with exposed beams, a woodburning stove, sun terrace and our own vine.

Our changeover day is Monday.
Changeover day
Mondays. The cost of travel is cheaper than at week-ends there is less congestion on flights and ferries during the peak summer season. Arrival after 4pm and departure by 10am please. This may be flexible out of high season and depending on bookings.

Duvets, towels, bedlinen all supplied. Please provide your own pool towels. The property is cleaned at the beginning of your stay. Additional cleaning/laundry can be arranged at extra cost. |
Notes on accommodation
No smoking inside the house, please repsect this request.
No pets. The house has one spiral and one open staircase, and tiled floors which are not suitable for very young children, (6mths-5yrs). The swimming pool is alarmed to comply with French legislation.

Accessibility
The house is on several levels with some low beams and does not lend itself to being used by wheelchair users. Sorry.
Outside
At the front of the house there is ample parking for up to 4 cars. The garden is mature with a large lawn and rockery. The sun terrace leads down steps to the private pool, size:10m x 5m, and 1.2m to 2m deep, and is alarmed. There are sun loungers/cushions, a BBQ, dining table/chairs and a sun parasol.
Coast/Beach
The Atlantic beaches and dunes of Archachon, south of Bordeaux are approx. 1.5 hours drive, and La Rochelle to the north-west approx. 2hrs. However, we have several lakes/rivers with sand beaches nearer, namely: La Jemaye (14kms) with pedaloes, canoes, horse riding etc, Aubeterre-sur-Dronne (12kms), Bourdielles (15kms).
Golf
Perigueux: 18 hole (25 mins drive)
Angouleme: 18 hole (45 mins drive)
Chateau Vigier: 18 hole (60 mins drive)
Bordeaux: 4 or 5 courses (70 mins drive) see local guides.
Longeveau: 9 hole (20 mins drive)
Special interest holidays
Although we do not offer special interest holidays ourselves. The location would lend itself for small groups interested in painting, fishing.
Travel
By air to: Bergerac (45mins), Bordeaux (60mins), Limoges or Poitiers (2hrs). Ryanair, BA, or Easyjet.
By train from: Waterloo to Angouleme.
Car hire is available at all the above destinations.
The use of a car is essential.
By car: Via the Channel Tunnel, and the main Channel Ferry ports along the south coast to a variety of destinations in France. The house is approximately 7 hours drive from Calais.
Distances
Riberac, the nearest town is 2 mins drive: Aubeterre-sur-Dronne 20mins: Perigueux (capital of the Dordogne) 30 mins: Brantome (Historic French town dating back to the 9thC) 30 mins: Bordeaux and the wine region 1 hour.
Further details
Riberac, and the neighbouring area, has numerous restaurants and cafes, 2 supermarkets, bakeries, banks, chemists, hospital, doctors, petrol stations and repair garages, hairdressers etc.
Situated in the town square is the Tourist Office where literature is available on all activities, possible places to visit and local events can be obtained.

To secure your booking please download and complete the booking form from our website, and send it with your rental deposit of 10% of the total rental amount.
