Fancy a 'hassle free' skiing holiday in a spacious chalet, with dramatic mountain scenery and all the charm of a traditional alpine village? A holiday with skiing to suit everybody, uncrowded pistes, cheap lift passes, minimal queues and where the locals are friendly, and even getting to morning ski school is an un-hassled affair? Then try Sainte Foy and stay at Chalet Les Noisettes… a truly great location for a skiing holiday. This small resort has long picturesque runs with fabulous scenery and views across the valley at every turn. There is extensive off-piste, both down through the trees and over the top into the back country for which Sainte Foy has become well renowned. The resort is also central to the nearby mega resorts of Val d’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs/Belle Plagne and La Rosiere from where you can ski into Italy. All are only 10-20mins drive away and can be combined within your lift pass to make for very varied days during your stay.

Notes on accommodation
Chalet Les Noisettes is a spacious chalet style duplex - 4 bedrooms; 3 bathrooms plus a mezzanine with a sofa bed. It sleeps 8 to 10 people comfortably and is well equipped with a large living/dining area that will accommodate 10. Add to all this breathtaking views across the valley to Mount Pourri opposite, and you have a truly great place to stay. Chalet Les Noisettes is centrally located within the village and is close to the ski lifts and the resort centre with its shops/bars/restaurants (all within 50m). All rooms have wall mounted electric heaters which are very efficient - this, together with good insulation makes for a very warm home.
Accessibility
The chalet is on the second floor of a two storey building and shares a landing with only one other chalet. It is sometimes possible to book both chalets if you are a large party (say of 14 or 2 families wishing to holiday together - please email us for more details). There is a travel cot for babies.
Outside
There is a small balcony from which there are the most fantastic views up and down the valley and across to Mount Pourri opposite. It receives the sun for most of the day and there is a table and two deck chairs for soaking up the sun when not skiing.
Coast/Beach
The river Isere flows through the Tarentaise valley and in summer is available for white water rafting, canoeing, body board surfing etc.
Golf
Available in the summer at Les Arcs and Tignes close by.
Skiing
Sainte Foy is very close to Val d'Isere/Tignes/Les Arcs which provide guaranteed high altitude skiing and the flexibility for further skiing opportunities. In addition to the resort skiing, there is also a very extensive amount of off-piste for which Sainte Foy is well renowned (some even saying that it has some of the best in Europe!).
If you have not tried 'Off Piste' then this is the place to give it a go! It is not hard and you need only be experienced to red run level. We can highly recommend a local guide who is sympathetic and encouraging both to off piste beginners and experts alike. If you have not tried 'Off Piste' then this is the place to give it a go! It is not hard and you need only be experienced to red run level.
Special interest holidays
Sainte Foy is also an exciting place for a summer holiday. There is great walking amongst the pine forests and above the tree line with historic hamlets and summer meadows to visit (books showing good walks along with maps are provided). There are also refuges if you want to walk further afield that can substantially add to the whole alpine wilderness experience.
