Riverside location in 25 acres of private grounds of a watermill with 4km of river and just south of the city of Tours, ideally situated for exploring the many chateaux of the Loire Valley, or if you prefer take one of many wine tasting trails through Touraine. Alternatively, relax by the river and try some fishing for the many species that inhabit the Indre, or just sit and watch the abundance of wildlife including kingfisher, bee-eaters, heron and the beaver like coypu.

Both properties have their own garden, outdoor furniture, sun loungers and barbecue. There is a shared swimming pool, erected in the summer months, 1.2m deep and 7m in diameter. There is also the possibility of sharing the use of the owners bicycles, canoes and small boat (subject to availability and competence).

Nearest airport Tours (15 mins drive) Ryanair London Stansted to Tours approx one hour. Channel Port of Caen to Tours approx 4 hours drive.

Distances
Nearest towns are Montbazon and Monts both 2km where all amenities can be found (market days being Tuesday and Saturday respectively). The city of Tours is 15 mins drive (famous flower market, Wednesdays and Saturdays). There are numerous Chateaux within easy reach and Montbazon has one of the oldest keeps in France.

The region is excellent for cycling and canoeing.

We spend about half our year in England and half in this wonderful property in the Loire Valley. The minute we saw this property we felt total peace and tranquility.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We had been holidaying in this region of France for over 20 years. We took over a year looking at many properties but when we saw this one, there was no doubt in our minds. No amount of photographs can possibly describe this wonderful hideaway. The minute you step foot inside the gates the outside world just fades away.

Unique benefits of the property
You can be very active, this is an ideal base to visit the nearby chateaux and the great wine trails, but you can also relax and unwind in the beautiful grounds of the property. The adventurous can kayak up the River or take the bikes on the many cycle routes in the area.
