The villa, built in the 1940s, has immense character, from the ancient stone floors, to the 10 foot double doors that grant access to the living room. All equipment from TV to DVD, from hob to microwave, oven to fridge, washing machine to tumble drier, is newly installed. A long terrace affords beautiful views of the coast, ahead to Cannes, to the Italian coast in the East and to the Alps on the horizon. You arrive at a steep drive into the garage. A climb of seventy steps brings you past the pool area and up to the house, tucked into a private fold of the cliff. The village of Theoule and its delightful beach is an easy ten minutes downhill, longer on the way back up! A series of rocky coves are a short clifftop walk away.

N.B. in my absences, my trusted friend Judith Davis is the point of contact for all arrangements, including welcomes, departures, payments and contracts. Separately, I employ her company, at my expense, as everyday managers of the villa.

Notes on accommodation
The steep climb up to the house from the garage may be difficult for those of advanced years. A goods lift helps bring up the shopping, but NOT your heavy luggage!
There are steep drops on the garden terraces and no railings, therefore the site is not entirely suitable for young children.

Outside
The rock of the cliff-face backs the house, terraced gardens running down the hillside, full of palms, oleanders and lavender. A barbecue is available. The private pool, heated when necessary, is surrounded by a lovely sun terrace with pool house equipped with a fridge and wc. Sun loungers by the pool and dining table and chairs on the terrace complete the outdoor equipment.
Coast/Beach
Theoule has the lovelist beach on the Cote d'Azur as it is the only one distanced from the road and railway that otherwise hug the coastline. A series of spectacular coves continue from the main beach. The water is exceptionally clean because of the depth off the coast. All beaches are an easy 10-15 minutes downhill stroll from the villa.
Travel
Nice is the nearest main airport, 35 kilometres away, about 40 minutes drive time.
Toulon-Hyeres, 100 kilometers and an hour or so, is also an option.
Car hire, from the airport, is the easiest solution to transport needs.
Distances
Theoule village is just down the hill, La Napoule five kilometres around the coast, Cannes about ten and Grasse twenty kilometres inland.
Resorts like Juan les Pins and Antibes are all less than half an hour's drive and the perched villages of the Alpes Maritimes an easy drive.
Further details
Theoule has one excellent small supermarket, a baker and a greengrocer/delicatessen, plus three excellent restaurants. The "Lounge Bar" in the restaurant on the main village square, "Le Cafe sur la Place", swings at weekends with DJ music and cocktails. A Geant (Giant) supermarket is five kilometres away in Mandelieu, along with cash machines, banks and more restaurants.
