This wonderful, mountain apartment in Chatel, comfortably sleeps 7 adults and is located directly opposite the Linga telecabine for near doorstep skiing. Once a week, there is floodlit night skiing on the Linga slope on the other side of the street, directly opposite the apartment. However, if after a hard day's walking or skiing you wish to spend the evening relaxing with friends or family and a glass of wine the living area has a hifi. Upstairs on a mezzanine level there is a further seating area equipped with TV, DVD, PS2 and board games. So bring along your own music CDs and PS2 games.

Skiing
Châtel is in the heart of the Franco-Swiss ski domain called the Portes du Soleil. The domain, one of the largest in Europe, covers 14 resorts:
8 are French including Avoriaz, Morzine, Montriond, les Gets, St Jean d’Aulps, Abondance and la Chapelle.
6 are Swiss: Champéry, Torgon, Morgins and les Crosets Val d’Illiez, Champoussin.
In all it has over 400 miles of ski slopes, well-served by 208 ski-lifts all accessible using a single, inclusive card.
The Châtel ski domain itself offers a wide range of superb holidays and magnificent opportunities for skiing, both for those who come for the life and scenery on the mountain and those looking for that ultimate experience on the slopes!
Châtel consists of two main sectors: Barbossine / Super-Châtel and Linga / Pré-la-Joux, lying between 1100m and 2200m (3600 ft and 7200 ft).
The Châtel ski domain has 49 ski slopes : 5 black, 16 red, 15 blue and 13 green with a total length of 83 km (53 miles).

Distances
There is lots to see in this beautiful part of Europe. In summer we would recommend days out to Thonon-les-Bains or Evian on Lake Geneva, only a short drive away, these are both lovely towns and down by the lake you could be on the Med sat lunching outside a restaurant or taking a dip at La Plage.

Further details
There are a variety of good bars and restaurants in the immediate area adjacent to the apartment. You will find, ski rental shops, bars, restaurants, a local bakery and supermarket all within 10 minutes walk from the apartment. There are further shops a short bus ride into the town centre and there is also very large supermarket approximately 10 minutes drive away.
