Changeover day
The changeover day for the apartments is normally from Saturday to Saturday. Arrival after 1pm. Departure by 11am.
There is no set changeover day for the guest house.

Notes on accommodation
All guests have the use of the large lounge and garden and tea and coffee making facilities are available. Baby sitting service provided on request.
Outside
Large enclosed garden with ample car parking facilities. Outdoor furniture is provided for guests' use. There is a Table tennis table and Boules pitch available for use as well as other outdoor games. There is also a Splash pool available during the summer months.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach at Chatelaillon Plage, a lovely long sandy beach with all facilities, is about 20 km from the house. Another lovely beach is at Fouras about 30 km South.
The Ile de Re and Ile d'Oleron are with 45 mins drive
Golf
There are golf courses within 40 minutes at La Rochelle (Links), Niort and Saintes.

Travel
The nearest airport is at la Rochelle about half an hours drive. There are other airports within 2 hours drive at Bordeaux, Nantes, Poitiers and Limoges. The nearest Channel port is at St. Malo about 3.5 hours away. See website for links to airlines, ferries, car hire and driving directions
Distances
The nearest town is at Surgeres a 7 minute drive. La Rochelle with its stunning marina and quayside cafes and restaurants is 30 minutes drive away. The historic town of Saintes with its Roman amphitheatre is a 45 minute drive. The beautiful Ile de Oleron and Ile de Re, with their miles of sandy beaches and sleepy villages are both close by. Royan, Rochefort and Cognac, all busy with lots to see and do are all within an hour's drive.
Further details
Surgeres has a market on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, there are a number of banks, a few cafes and restaurants. La Rochelle has a vegetable market on a Wednesday and Saturday and a craft market most evenings in the Summer, there is also street theatre in La Rochelle every day throughout the summer months. There are some good shops here also, ranging from jewellery to clothes to chocolates!Aigrefeuille (10 mins drive) has an open air swimming pool as does Surgeres.
