Within easy walking distance of the beach or a few minutes by car to a selection of sandy beaches and the centre of Meschers in the Charente Maritime region, being close to St George de Didonne and Royan. Single storey house in a quiet residential area with private pool with an approved security cover. In Meschers village there is a supermarket, several bakers, bank, cafe, newsagent, tobacconist and tourist shops. In the small port there are a number of restaurants which overlook the marina. Horse riding and tennis courts available locally with Europe's largest zoo, aquarium and popular golf course further along the coast as well as other beaches with watersports.

Changeover day
Saturday to Saturday. Arrival after 4pm. Departure by 10am. Sometimes it is possible to be flexible.

| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Linen and towels (not beach) provided and changed weekly at same time as pool is cleaned. Property to be left as clean as found on arrival. If preferred, cleaning can be arranged for you at reasonable cost. |
Notes on accommodation
Electric central heating via wall mounted radiators throughout the house. The house is suitable for children as it is on one level with the exception of 3 steps down from the terrace to the pool. No smoking is allowed inside the house.

Outside
The area to the front of the house behind the bounday wall is laid to lawn and planted with specimen trees. There is a smaller lawn to the rear of the property along with many shrubs and a fixed stone & brick BBQ. The whole property is securely walled and/or fenced. Paved roofed terrace with table, chairs and sun loungers. Unheated private 7.5 x 3.5 metre pool.
Coast/Beach
5 minutes drive to local beaches (15 minutes walk) which are all soft sand and non-shelving small bays. The beach at St Georges de Didonne is 10 minutes drive, being much bigger and is the place for watersports. Royan beach is 20 minutes drive, being the largest of all with many beach front restaurants, cafes, etc.
Golf
Royan golf course is 20 minutes drive, set in the heart of the forest of la Coubre. There is a 9 hole course on ile d'Oleron with many water obstacles and views of ile d'Aix and fort Boyard in the Charente estuary. A third course can be found on ile de Re at La Rochelle.
Travel
La Rochelle & Bordeaux airports are approximately 57 miles away. From Calais (ferry) and La Coquelles (Eurotunnel) it is approx. 520 miles or 8 hours driving time. A car is essential if you wish to explore the area.
Booking notes
£200 deposit on confirmation of booking. Balance due 8 weeks before arrival date. £200 sterling cash damage deposit to be paid on arrival - refundable on departure provided no damage has been done.
