Le Bourg, Courson, close to St. Sever and its famous forest and lake and between Vire and Villedieu. Courson is a rural retreat with its own shop and restaurant and a lovely welcome atmosphere. 'Le Bourg' is completely enclosed by fencing and has a large lawned garden and is lovely inside too. It has wi-fi access too. Caen, Le Havre and St Malo are all very close by.

Outside
Le Bourg has simple but large grass gardens at the back which is excellent for children, and a patio area which is south facing. At the front there is a drive for the car accessible through large gates ensuring security for children. There is a grassed lawn to the front.
Coast/Beach
Granville is a gem and is just 40 minutes drive. The D-day beaches are a similar distance and Mont St Michel is seeable 15 minutes after leaving the house if you join the A84. You can explore all parts of Normandy and many parts of Brittany with a good day trip out. Paris is just 2 and a half hours away by train which can be enjoyed very cheaply by booking ahead with SNCF.
Special interest holidays
Those wanting to visit the Normandy Beaches, World War II cemeteries and memorials will find the cottage an excellent location.
Travel
Dinard Airport is one hour away. All ports leading to Normandy (St Malo, Cherbourg, Caen and Le Havre) are very easily accessible. Caen is the closest by a few minutes.
Distances
St Sever is walkable on a lovely day (2 kilometres) lovely market on a Saturday. Vire and Villedieu are both a 20 minute drive. Trains from both to Paris every two hours.

All banks have outlets in Vire and there are 3 large supermarkets. There are a vast number of restaurants and other attractions to explore.

I run a Christian PR Company looking after charities, colleges, dioceses and pilgrimage travel.
I was ordained as a Church of England priest in 1984 and have written several books and am also a broadcaster.
I love France and Normandy in particular and purchasing Le Bourg was a dream come true for me.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I had thought about buying a cottage in Normandy because I had spent numerous holidays there over many years.
I know the Eure region best and didn't expect to purchase in calvados but I am delighted I did.
It is close to Brittany - so close - and yet you can be in Caen on a Sunday for the market in less than 45 minutes!
