A family holiday home, the villa is spacious, comfortable and newly refurbished. The proximity of the lakeside beach, a large garden, terrace and fabulous views make it ideal for children and adults alike. The small and friendly resort of Maubuisson, is a 5 minute walk along the promenade and has all the necessary shops and a good selection of bars and restaurants. Access to the network of cycle paths is directly in front of the house and will take you around the lake to the port of Bombannes, and through the pine forest out to the Atlantic beaches(5km). Just 10kms from the surfers paradise of Lacanau ocean and 40mins from the beautiful city of Bordeaux the area also boasts 2 golf courses and the Medoc wine growing region.

Notes on accommodation
A child friendly house with enclosed garden. 3 bedrooms on the ground floor are suitable for toddler. Basic baby equipment provided (highchair, cot, child bicycle seat). Log fire,portable electric radiators and fans.Wireless internet access.

Large covered terrace with outdoor table, chairs, and BBQ. Garden loungers, deckchairs, sunshade and childrens paddling pool.

Coast/Beach
Clean sandy lakeside beach, less than 20 metres away. Clean water for swimming (lifeguards in designated areas). All options for watersports - sailing boat, catamaran, windsurfer, canoe, pedalo hire on beach in front of house. Also waterskiing and fishing. 5kms to the sandy Atlantic beach of Carcan plage - surfing, jetskiing etc.

Golf
The Domaine de l'Ardilouse at Lacanau(10kms)is an 18 hole course carved out of both dunes and pine forest and has a good International reputation.The course is maintained to a very high standard.

Travel
Bordeaux airport is a 40 minute drive. Cars can be hired from the airport.

About the owner
We are an English couple that have lived in Fance for the past 18 years. We run a working farm and a consultancy business. We have 4 wonderful children between the ages of 9 and 16 who have busy, happy lives. The greatest joy for all of us, however, is time spent at our holiday villa in Maubuisson.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We came across Maubuisson quite by chance when taking a holiday near Bordeaux in the Summer of 2003. We all immediately fell in love with the beautiful location and everything it had to offer. Maubuisson has the feel of a seaside holiday town 20 years ago. It has all the faciltities but is not over commercialised or built up. It has a warm friendly atmosphere and a great oudoor lifestyle attitude. Everyone from toddlers to OAPs will enjoy their stay - it truly is a 'little paradise'.

Unique benefits of the property
We spotted our villa for sale on that first trip to Maubuisson and instantly knew it was the right one.We renovated it in 2004. It is clean, bright, spacious and very user friendly. What makes it stand out however is that it has prime location, on the boulevard, overlooking the biggest natural lake in France. No car trips or long walks to the beach, it all just there, and still only 5 mins walk from the town. We at least feel very privileged to be there.
