10 mins from Grasse with its pretty marketplace and famous parfumeries. 30 mins drive from Nice Airport. Monte Carlo and San Remo can be reached within an hour via the AutoRoute. Ideal for the beaches of the Cote D'Azur as 40 mins drive away are Antibes, Juan les Pins and Cannes etc. Shops and restaurants within 10 mins walking. Also many good restaurants 15 mins drive away in lovely mediaeval village of Valbonne. Lots to do and see. Wonderful museums(Chagall, Renoir's house etc). Good gardens to visit. Mountain villages, lovely walks and all the fun of the Cote D'Azur within easy reach of this peaceful location. Golf, tennis and riding. Built of local stone, circa 1800, the house is well maintained and full of character. The main room is typical old Provencal, with beams and wood burning stove. The modern oak kitchen is well equipped with two fridge/freezers, dishwasher, microwave and gas/electric cooker. 2 bathrooms, separate WC, utility, storage with lots of garden furniture.

Changeover day
Normally Saturday, this could be flexible at times. We ask tenants to arrive no earlier than 4pm and to leave by 10am on day of departure.

Notes on accommodation
Suitable for children as garden fairly flat and enclosed. Pool on higher level so not a constant temptation. However, we would stress the need for supervision of children by the pool despite the alarm. There are terracotta tiles with rugs throughout the house.

Outside
Pretty garden with lovely maintained pool (alarm, diving end and gentle steps) 29ft by 16ft. Plenty of garden and pool furniture with mattresses. Car parking no problem. Built in BBQ. 4 places to eat outside depending on sun and time of day.
Coast/Beach
The many beaches and marinas of the Cote D'Azur are 30 to 40 minutes drive away. These include Cannes, Antibes, Juan Les Pins and Theoule. These are all sandy beaches, some pay beaches and some public. Nice however is a public pebble beach.
Golf
Due to the climate, golf can be played all year round so golfers are well catered for. There is a wide range of courses, at least 10, within easy reach.
Skiing
Under 2 hours drive from Le Rouret, the ski resort of Isola 2000. This is a purpose built resort right on the slopes with "ski to the door" facility and wonderful sunshine! Season finishes late April but excellent in the summer for alpine activities. Lower down is Auron, a typical old alpine village ski resort which is very popular with Parisians. Buses to both resorts are available direct from Nice airport or station taking under 2 hours.
Travel
Nice airport is 30 minutes drive from the house. Car hire and use is recommended but buses are frequent to and from the airport and Grasse. There is also an excellent coastal railway with Cannes being the closest station. If putting your car on the train get off at Frejus St Raphael or even Avignon for a lovely drive down the autoroute which you leave above Cannes. Nice in the early PM is rather hectic. Motoring all the way is fine the autoroutes are excellent.
Distances
Grasse is the nearest town from Le Rouret being 10 minutes drive away. Cannes and Nice are about 30 minutes. Monaco and Italy-San Remo are an hour and a half away so day trips are easy. Pretty perched villages nearby. Vence under an hour-Matisse chapel, St Paul de Vence above. Half an hour up to mountain village of Gourdon - lovely chateau-wonderful views. Lac St Cassien under an hour.
Further details
There are 3 supermarkets within 5 minutes drive from the house. Good butcher, pharmacy, baker, general store within walking distance. Also a doctor. Banks are 5 minutes drive away with ATM machines. Then of course, Grasse. For smart shops, Cannes and younger funkier shops, Juan Les Pins(also excellent nightlife).
Booking notes
A 25% deposit secures your booking. We then exchange tenancy agreements. The balance of rental is then due 8 weeks before date of letting. We also require a separate £300 returnable deposit against breakages or damage. Obviously all this can be speeded up if necessary.
