Moulin de Pierretoune is a beautiful Basque watermill dating from 1550 with 5 acres of land and riverside gardens. Situated in wonderfully peaceful countryside, yet only 10 minutes from the A64 motorway and 30 minutes from Biarritz and its famous surf beaches. The mill is situated on the river Arberoue, the river flows below the large terrace and around each side of the island garden. The surrounding fields contain horses, cows, sheep, donkeys and even llamas! We have also had visits from wild goats and deer. The river is perfect for swimming and fly fishing. The mill is in a small hamlet just outside the Basque village of La Bastide Clairence and all local amenities (a 5 minute drive), voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. The towns of Pau, Biarritz, Bayonne, St. Jean de Luz, St. Jean Pied de Port and across the Spanish border, San Sebastian and Bilbao, are all nearby. 25 minutes from Biarritz airport and 45 minutes from Pau airport (Ryanair).

Guest comments
'Everything about the holiday was lovely and I could bore you with pages of gushing praise! The house is beautiful and very homey... There were so many nice touches; cut flowers everywhere, books, guide books, magazines, childrens books, beach mats, the fabulous shower, the herb garden, UK TV. We visited Biarritz and St Jean-de-Luz and loved both of them. So anyway, let me just say a simple 'thank you' for having such a lovely house in such a lovely place. We would love to come again. Amanda Coulier, Vendee, France

We stayed in the mill in the last week of July/August and had a lovely time. The kids really appreciated all the toys and boogie boards and the house was just perfect. Ghislaine was really nice and helpful too. Nikki Davis, London

Thank you for having us at Pierretoune. We absolutely
loved it. It was very well equipped and nice and clean. We were especially lucky with the weather which was unseasonably warm - 21 degrees on new year's eve.
Lucinda Gresswell, L
