Christmas / New Year let available on request. Long term lets - rates negotiable. 4 course evening meal with wine and coffee available on request at a charge of 25 euros per person.
Changeover day
Preferred change over days are Saturdays, but if no booking for weeks either side then can be flexible.

Coast/Beach
There are beaches at Lac St Pardoux (20min drive) which also caters for windsurfing, canoeing, sailing and water skiing.
There are many lakes in and around Le Dorat for fishing enthusiasts.
Golf
There are golf courses at Limoges (50Kms drive) and also at St Junnien (40Kms drive)
Travel
Limoges airport is a 40 minute drive away and has car hire facilities. Poitiers airport is about a one hour drive and also has car hire facilities.
Le Dorat station is a couple of minutes walk away, with rail links to Limoges and Poitiers. At Poitiers there are connections with the TGV to Paris and the Eurostar.
Calais is between a seven and eight hour drive.

Le Dorat, capital of the Basse Marche, is a pleasant town situated in the Haute Vienne area of Limousin.
The 12th century cathedral of St. Pierre, offering a fine example of Romanesque architecture, dominates the town as it sits proudly in the main square overlooking the medieval walls and ramparts as well as the outstanding views of the surrounding countryside.
Le Dorat hosts many events during the year including horse race meetings in June, July and August, show jumping trials and events in September, the magnificant Son et Lumiere Spectacular in August and Bastille Day firework display in July
Le Dorat sits halfway between the ancient city of Limoges (with its many cultural attractions, outdoor antiques market and porcelain and enamel factories and outlets) and the popular university city of Poitiers (with its cobbled streets filled with interesting shops, fine restaurants and Futuroscope park).
Visits to regular markets (offering local produce), antique car rally meetings, local porcelain outlets as well as to the local restaurants and bars offer you a pleasant relaxed stay in this ancient town.
Other things to do include cycling,country, forest and lakeside walks, horse riding and bird watching.
Take a trip to one of the local antique markets, sit at one of the outdoor cafes, sample local fine foods (notably pate de fois gras) and wines.
Visit some of the many historically important areas including Oradour sur Glane, Mortmart, Cognac and Rochechuart.
