Air-conditioning on 1st floor of villa. Cottage (sleeps up to 4) independent of main house included in the rental price. The cottage is very quaint and rustic with original flagstone flooring. Outdoor BBQ area and separate bar area. Tennis court. Boules Court. Outdoor table-tennis table, indoor pool table and table football. Garden with children's swings and slide.

The two storey cottage is 200 years old. It is separate from main house. Main reception room also has 'Flou duetto' sofa-bed which provides 2 single beds at normal bed height. Upstairs has a new four-poster bed. Bathroom. Small kitchen with oven/microwave (only suitable for light cooking). |

Notes on accommodation
Suitable for children aged 5 years and over. The 2 acre grounds have several levels and supervision would be needed for younger children. A car is essential.

South facing orientation. Air-conditioning in bedrooms on 1st floor of villa. Private 12x6m salt-water swimming pool (alarmed in accordance with French law). 4 top-of-the-range sun loungers. Outdoor BBQ. Tennis court. Boules Court. Double car port. Olive, lemon, orange, cherry and apricot trees.
Coast/Beach
Approx 25-30minutes to Cap d'Antibes and Cannes. 30-45 minutes to Villefranche, Eze, St Jean Cap Ferrat, Cap d'Ail, Monaco, Menton & the Italian border.
Golf
Golf is 20 minutes to Villeneuve-Loubet with its 60 place driving range and 9 hole putting green.
25 minutes to Golfe Juan. 30 minutes to Valbonne Golf Course.
Skiing
The nearest French Alps ski resorts are Isola 2000 and Auron. Isola is approx 1 1/2 hours and Auron 2 1/2 hours. Direction towards the Italian border. The Apres ski is lively with over 20 restaurants, 10 bars and a couple of night clubs. Auron resort: (1600m) intimate village set in 4 ski sites that stretch over 132 km of marked-out slopes. Skiers, snowboarders. Ski season: December to April. Highest lift: 2450m (8038ft) Lowest lift: 1164m (3819ft).

There are plenty of restaurants within 10-15 minutes of the villa, from world-famous 2 star Michelin to Pizza café for the family. All details will be provided at the time of booking.
Distances
Local supermarkets in Vence (7 mins drive). Giant Shopping mall in St Laurent du Var (called 'Cap 3000') 15 mins drive away. Vence food market every morning in the old town. 45 mins to Italy for weekly markets on Friday and Saturday in Ventimiglia and San Remo (location of 'The Talanted Mr. Ripley'!).
Further details
Cagnes sur Mer is the nearest train station. Matisse Chapel, is a 10 minute walk from the villa. This white chapel with its striking blue roof was designed and decorated by Matisse between 1947 and 1951 and is famous for its stained glass windows which spill colours onto the white marble floors. Matisse apparently considered it his masterpiece.
Of interest to children: Wonderful farm 'La Cavetiere' in Col de Vence (10 minutes drive) where kids can take pony rides and see lots of farm animals. You can pre-book a 3 course set lunch (20 euro per adult/10 per child) which is excellent but beware of the resident goat who climbs onto your table and tries to pinch your food!
