The apartment occupies the main floor (street level) with the option of part of the first floor. There is a large terrace as well as side deck and courtyard with secure private car parking. The generous accommodation has central heating. Appliances, fittings and furniture are of a high standard. Castelnau-Montratier is an unspoilt hilltop town with its own weekly market in the central square where the locals play ‘boules’. Make our large apartment your comfortable base from which to experience this delightful part of southern France. The area, known as Quercy Blanc because of the colour of the local limestone, consists of rolling hills and fertile valleys peppered with isolated churches and hamlets. An area of outstanding natural beauty, it is steeped in history with lovely country walks, rich cultural heritage and inexpensive fresh local produce.

Further details
Castelnau-Montratier has a full range of small shops - boulangeries, patisseries, boucheries, fruiterie, épiceries, quincaillerie - and a well-stocked supermarket. The main square, where there is a market on Sunday mornings all year, is the centre of town life with its two cafes, banks, and places to linger and chat. Our town also has an open-air swimming pool and tennis courts. Staying in the town you will experience those things essentially French, from the morning baguettes and croissants to the friendly ‘Bonjour’ of the neighbours.
Within a short drive are lake swimming, horse riding, golf and fishing; together with many restaurants to suit all budgets. Markets in neighbouring towns sell local produce, handicrafts and other goods. Antiques and brocante fairs are an opportunity to buy unique collectables. In summer one can always find a village fête with its eating, drinking, boules tournaments and dancing as well as concerts of jazz, folk and classical music. Castelnau-Montratier is at the centre of the wine area Coteaux de Quercy. Visit the vineyards to buy wine from the local vignerons or drive to the nearby renowned wine areas of Cahors and Gaillac. Enjoy cycling through the rolling countryside.
There are endless possibilities for half day or day trips: caves where one can see prehistoric art and amazing geological formations, such as Pech Merle; small towns clinging to the valley side as at Rocamadour or St Cirq-Lapopie; châteaux, cathedrals and local markets abound; Cahors, Moissac, Montauban, Cordes-sur-Ciel, Albi and many more towns will claim your attention.
