Owner profile

About the owner
We are both retired which allows us to indulge our passion for the Midi-Pyrenees. We discovered St Jean de Laur in 1985 and it really does feel like a second home to us. Our five grown up children and their families feel just the same way. It is a particularly friendly village and nowadays we get invited to the weddings of those who were just babies when we first arrived! The area continues to be just as unspoilt as when we first arrived - and the familiar clack of the boules is still to be heard every evening in front of the Mairie

Year purchased: 1980's

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We were overwhelmed by the unspoilt beauty of the region - particularly the Quercy with its scrubby oaks and limestone 'falaise'. It remains as we first saw it; just a quite village full of lovely people.
