Notes on accommodation
This large converted barn is a perfect place for a holiday for a couple or for a very large group. It is especially popular as a venue for large family groups. It is close to the Buddist retreat and Plum village if accomodation is needed when participating in their various courses. Groups enjoy the large rooms and the numerous terraces. All ages are able to visit from small babies to the elderly and infirm. Numerous facilities and equipment are provided to keep everyone happy! For those who wish to enjoy a few rounds of golf on holiday, www.vigiers.com is only 4 miles away. It is very suitable for children as it has an enclosed garden and well planned, safe pool area. Wine tasting is a must as the house is surrounded by vineyards. For those who like cycling and walking, it is a real pleasure on the quiet single track lanes. Nature lovers will be amazed at the number of birds of prey, wild boar and deer. The house can also be enjoyed by couples looking for a romantic break.

The property is suitable for someone who uses a wheelchair, but who is not wheel chair bound. The Green Room is suitable as a bedroom as there are no steps between the bedroom and en-suite shower room. A wheelchair can be used from the Green bedroom to the kitchen terrace and kitchen via the swimming pool terrace. Contact owner, Tracey, for more guidance on accessibility.

There is an enclosed 2 acre garden with trampoline, football goals, wendy house, sandpit, hammocks.
The large pool (11x5m) is heated and has an easily retractable telescopic cover, which ensures enjoyable swimming no matter the weather. It can also be used at night as can the pool terrace with night lights. The pool has a large terrace and grass area surrounding it and because of the hedges is very private and sheltered. There are ample sunbeds and parasols for guests.
The Lavender bedroom has a terrace with table, 4 chairs & parasol and love seat. The Green bedroom has a terrace with table, 2 chairs and a swing seat. This terrace also has am outdoor chess board. There is a very large, partly covered terrace facing south, leading from the kitchen. This has a very large table with ample chairs. It also has a swing seat, table tennis, gas and charcoal bbq and games box. A breakfast terrace leads from the end of the kitchen with table, 4 chairs & parasol.
Coast/Beach
Arcachon Bay, famous for oysters and wonderful for lunch is a 90 minute drive.
The Atlantic coastline with numerous beaches is a 2 hour drive. Many of our guests enjoy a great day out, incorporating lunch at Arcachon and then body boarding, swimming or walking at the coast, south of Arcachon Bay.

Nearest small village, Loubes Bernac with a very small shop and tiny restaurant/pizzeria is 2 miles. Sigoules, a large village with all amenities, is 4.5 miles. Bergerac is a 20 minute drive which is a wonderful Medieval town to explore (see link on owners website). Bordeaux is a fascinating city for shopping and culture, and can be reached in a 1 hour drive, or by local train. Numerous bastide towns and chateaux can be explored locally. The famous Monbazillac Chateau is only a 15 minute drive.

About the owner
We live in Salisbury, Wiltshire, and have a daughter in Cape Town and a son in Sigoules, in the Dordogne. We both enjoy cycling, golf and walking. We bought La Grange in 2009 after holidaying for many, many years in the Dordogne as a family. La Grange needed extensive renovation but we thought it was worth all the hard work, due to it's location next to Chateau Vigiers golf course. Why the owner chose a villa in this location
We love this part of the Dordogne as it is peaceful and rural with wonderful scenery, but still only 20 minutes to Bergerac and 1 hour from Bordeaux. The area has many colourful markets and night markets, a wide variety of good restaurants and lots of things to do for all ages. Golf is only 5 minutes away- Chateau des Vigiers - which is a pleasure to play. The house is surrounded by a network of quiet lanes which are safe and ideal for walking and cycling. Wild boar, deer and birds of prey are numerous. There are also numerous vineyards offering wine tasting, as well as the world famous St Emillion and Monbazillac. After travelling all over the world, this special area is heaven to us!

For romantics, there is a wonderful hand made four poster bed. All master bedrooms have tea/coffee facilities.
The kitchen is well stocked with le creuset, Royal Doulton and a Rangemaster large stove. With many terraces and a sauna you will be truly spoilt.
