This ancient farmhouse overlooking the valley of Fayence with views of distant snowcapped mountains (in winter only!) combines a country retreat with easy access to the sophisticated Mediterranean coast of beaches, cafés and of course – shopping. Directly from the house one can walk to the charming unspoilt village of Seillans, home to the Surrealist Max Ernst for many years. There is a post office, pharmacy, a newsagent selling same day English newspapers (though you won’t be interested!), a bakery and general shop. There are 3 good restaurants in the village and a Michelin starred one 10 minutes away.

| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels (except swimming towels) are included but linen is charged for. The property is cleaned once per week and linen changed. Extra cleaning can be provided at 15 euros per hour. |
Notes on accommodation
The accommodation would particularly suit 2 families with children who would benefit from the privacy of our 'Maison des Amis'. Please ask for more details. In addition we offer bed and breakfast when the property is not rented out at certain times of the year.
Outside
The 2 acre terraced garden is planted mainly with fruit and olive trees. There are a variety of shady dining and sitting areas. From the south side of the house, steps lead up to the secluded pool area - from here there are magnificent, uninterrupted views of Fayence, 5km away and beyond to the mountains of the Haute Var. Surrounded by pine trees and lavender bushes the 36x12ft pool has a sunny terrace and seating area with table, chairs and sun loungers. There is a wooden changing cabin with shower and deck.
Coast/Beach
Swimming, boating, fishing and wind surfing at nearby Lac St. Cassien: Fayence Gliding Club. Beaches 40 mins away, Gorges du Verdon 1 hour 30 mins.
Golf
Golf at the beautiful Four Seasons championship course.
Tennis courts are available at Fayence.
Gliding club at Fayence.
Lake and all facilities plus restaurants 15 mins from house.
Travel
Nice airport is 45 mins drive from our property. Car hire is strongly recommended. Toulon Airport is 1 hour away while Marseille airport is a 2 hour drive.
Grasse rail station is 45 min away.
Distances
La Berge aux Chevres is a short walk or a few mins drive from the village of Seillans. It is 5km from the market town of Fayence. Nice with its museums and beaches is 45 mins by car. Cannes is 35 mins away. There are many interesting Provencale villages close by and the town of Grasse famous for its perfume factory is within easy reach by car.

Highchair, cot, BBQ, and towels included except for swimming towels. Swimming pool, with approved safety alarm, telephone. Ample parking space. Bed linen is charged at £10 per bed. Electricity and gas are excluded.

25% of rental with booking (non refundable) security bond of £500 with rental, balance 2 months before arrival. Payment can be made in UK in sterling or in France in Euros
