A traditional Breton farm cottage - 200 years old, exposed beams. A south facing garden with a large patio and barbecue area with views across the fields and of course the lake is very near and can be reached in a couple of minutes. Drive up the road by the side of the lake, take a right turn and you are in a typically French country lane, with a handful of stone built properties - an idyllic rural retreat. Whether you would like to feel lazy and relax, or be more energetic we feel sure you will enjoy our cosy retreat.

Accessibility
the cottage is on 3 levels, it is surrounded by a hamlet and is in a flat area, very close to the local town, it is about 5 mins in the car.
Outside
The Garden is approx, 420sqms and has a patio with table and chairs lovely for catching the evening sun and enjoying your meal, very nice and safe for children to play on.
Coast/Beach
A 30 minute drive will take you to one of the many beautiful beaches on the coast.
Golf
There is a 9 hole golf course 5 mins in the car on the other side of the lake.
Special interest holidays
There are 2 bikes in the cottage, a lovely cycle track runs the full length of the lake, there is water sports, swimming, fishing and horse riding locally as well as Bowling (10 mins by car) A medieval town with the most beautiful Chateau reflected in the still waters of the River Oust. Josselin has lots of winding cobbled streets to wander through and some of the buildings date back to the 14th century and are well worth exploring.Slightly further on is the Artisan village of "Rochefort en Terre" - a journey back in time.
La Gacilly is also a beautiful town and Lizio too. We heartily recommend a whole day in Dinan to do it justice. The coastal resort of Vannes (a gentle 25 mins by car) with its pretty marina, harbour side cafes and restaurants, also it has a very good organic market as well as an impressive old city to wander round and visit the many interesting shops.

Travel
A short distance from the Ports (St Malo, Caen & Cherbourg) through the beautiful French countryside brings you to our cottage. aino fly to either Rennes or Dinard airport and hire a car, again the distance is about 1 hour.
Distances
The road around the lake to the south leads to the large town of Ploermel which is about 2 miles away. It has a Friday street market selling vegetables, fish, meat and other things, three new national supermarkets, Credit Mutuel, Credit Agricole and other national banks, many restaurants and bars, shops for clothes, shoes, electrical and household products, jewellery, newsagents, chemists, flowers and most other needs.

About the owner
I have always enjoyed my holidays in France so to buy a property in Brittany was my dream, I enjoy the country side whilst being near to the town, so this suits me well I am close to the lake also. I find the neighbours very helpful and friendly, unfortunately I am unable to go as often as I would like.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Buying this property was easy as it is in such a beautiful area. I find it quite easy to travel to from my home town in the south of England. either from Portsmouth to St Malo or Le havre which is slightly longer but no problem as the roads are so good.
Unique benefits of the property
To stay in the cottage is really restful, and after a few days you feel very calm. As the property is so close to all the amenities you are likely to need, nothing is a hassle. Wonderful cafes and Boulangeries as well as supermarkets for all your needs. My property I feel offers the best of both worlds, a tranquel rural setting whilst having easy access to the lake and beach with water sports and of course the local town of Ploermel which is 5mins drive or a bike ride... I also like the fact that one can drive to many of the wonderful beaches of Brittany within 30/45minutes.
Ploemel also offers Bowling and cinemas as well as sports facitlities.
