With thick stone walls and tiled floors, the house is delightfully cool on hot summer days, while splendid fireplaces make for cosy winter evenings. It offers comfortable, centrally heated and roomy accommodation for 8 people and 2/3 infants. The recently converted cottage is a delightfully charming and traditional gite. It offers comfortable and centrally heated accommodation for 4 + infant. Exposed beams and stone walls feature throughout. Walled, spacious lawned gardens with heated pool - surrounded by large sun terrace with loungers. Huge games barn - pool, table tennis and boules. Plenty of parking each house has separate driveway.
Melleran is a peaceful an d historical village situated 5 minutes drive from Chef-boutonne and Sauze-Vaussais. 40 minutes from Niort, Poitiers and just over 1 hour from the Atlantic coast. Ideal for holidays as relaxing or energetic as you want.

Changeover is Saturday, and is flexible out of season.
Arrival time is after 4pm and departure is before 10am.

Open plan lounge, dining, oak fitted kitchen with oven, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, electric kettle. Shower room with twin vanity sinks. Separate toilet. All floors are tiled. Open tread oak staircase to first floor, all oak floors. Double bedrrom with wrought iron bed. Twin bedroom with 2 wrought iron single beds. Use of washing machine. Outside is pergola for under cover dining, barbeque, pool and games barn. |

Notes on accommodation
All properties can be centrally heated at an additional cost. Bed linen is provided and changed weekly. Bathroom towels are available on request.
With an enclosed garden and fenced pool it is safe for children, cots and highchairs are available.
With a downstairs bedroom and bathroom, La Marjolaine is popular with those who have difficulty with stairs, the grounds are flat and perfect for those with limited mobility.

Gardens are walled with lawn and parking.
Undercover dining is provided for both houses with tables and chairs.

The 11 x 5m pool is heated from June until the end of August, and is fenced for security. It is shared by the 2 properties.
Coast/Beach
La Rochelle is 1hour 15 minutes by car and other Atlantic resorts are about 1 1/2 hours.
Golf
Niort Golf club is 40 minutes away. Saintes and Poitiers are an hour.
Travel
Poitiers is 40 minutes with flights daily from Stansted with Ryanair.
La Rochelle is 1 1/4 hours with flights from Stansted, Birmingham, Southampton.
Limoges is 1 hour with flights from Stansted, Liverpool
Bordeaux is 2 hours with flights from most UK airports.
Caan is 4 hours.

Marais-Poitevin, a mysterious world of silence in which waterways replace paths and roads is 40 minutes by car.

25% deposit is required on booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

What a really lovely holiday- an excellent introduction to family holidays in France. Accommodation was perfect, couldn't have asked for better - it was like a home from home. It was so nice that James could run round the garden and we didn't have to worry where he was - a very relaxing 2 weeks. Thanks for your hospitality, it was very welcoming.
