La Lune was originally 2 houses dating back to the early 1800s, which we have lovingly restored into a welcoming Bed & Breakfast. Our fully stocked 1 acre fishing lake is adorned by beautiful willows and is surrounded by a further 2 acres of mature pretty gardens. The above ground pool with sun bathing patio is next to the orchard, and for our guests use the large BBQ is next to the covered terrace. Perfect for dining outside on those warm summer evenings. Situated just off the D357 and 3 kms from exit one of the A81, we are ideally placed for touring this beautiful region of France. No long winding roads to negotiate after a long journey

Notes on prices
B&B prices are based on 2 sharing. Please add 15 euros for each additional adult sharing a room and 10 euros for each additional child. A minimum of 3 nights is required for the Le Mans Race events. 40% discount for winter bookings of 4 weeks or longer.
Changeover day
Saturday changeover is preferable but can be flexible. Rooms to be vacated by 10.00am on day of departure. For arriving guests rooms will be available from 4.00pm unless by prior arrangement.
Notes on accommodation
We offer 2 or 3 course evening meals from 15 euros pp. Dinner is served between 6.30pm and 7.00pm. For those who prefer something light, or will arrive after 6.30pm, we offer a selection of cold meats, pate, tasty French cheeses, new potatoes, salad, pickles and French bread. This can be served up to 8.30pm. We require at least 2 days notice for evening meals as we try to buy everything fresh on the day using local produce where possible. Children's menus start from 6 euros. An example of a 3 course evening meal is:- Delicious Baked camembert, for 2 or more to share. Duck in orange sauce, served on a bed of spinach, creamed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Strawberry tart served with cream or ice cream. During the months of July and August we have a lighter 2 course menu which includes all wine beer or soft drinks for 15 euros pp For S/C, bedlinen and towels can be provided for a small extra charge of 10 euros pp. All bedrooms have electric radiators and are fitted with smoke alarms.
Accessibility
All of our bedrooms have 2 or 3 steps leading to them, making it difficult for wheelchair users but not impossible.
Outside
Our one acre lake is adorned by beautiful willows and is set in the middle of 3 acres of mature gardens. It is perfect for pleasure anglers and families. The above ground pool and sunbathing patio is situated next to the old orchard. The covered terrace is next to the BBQ and is just perfect for sitting out on long warm summer evenings, what better way to end the day. Totally safe for children we have swings, badminton net boulles and various other games.
Coast/Beach
Just 5 mins away in the village of Brulon, there is a lake with beach and safe swimming, a play area for children. crazy golf, tennis courts, skate boarding park and lots more. You can hire push bikes to explore some of the 170 kms of bike trails which start from here, or canoes and kayaks for a fun day out on the river. There is a restaurant/bar overlooking the lake where you can enjoy a drink and lunch. Here, there is certainly something for all the family to enjoy.
Golf
The Golf course at Sable-Solesmes is 25 kms away and is in the peaceful setting of forests and the Sarthe river. Situated on a 140 ha complex it is one of the most beautiful courses that combines both sport and nature. The 4 different courses that make up this complex has something for everyone, from top players to beginners.
Travel
We are approximately 2hrs drive from St.Malo and Caen ferry ports and approx 4 - 4 1/2 hrs drive from Calais. Nantes airport is also approx 2 hrs drive, and Tours approx 1 1/4hrs. Paris is approx 2 - 2 1/2hrs. We recommend you drive or hire a car to enable you to explore this lovely region.

Further details
Loue, just 8 kms away has supermarkets, shops, bars restaurants, banks, outdoor swimming pool, cycle trails and a small weekly market. Brulon, a small 'cite of character', is a 5 min drive and has a bank with cash machine, baker, butcher, small supermarket, a couple of bars and a lake with beach and water sports. Among some of the many places to visit is Le Mans, home to the famous 24 hour race circuit and automobile museum. The superb golf course at Solesmes, is of International standing and is known to be one of the most beautiful in all of France. Approximately one hrs drive away are the troglodyte houses at Saumer, a truly interesting and fascinating day out. The Loire is famous for its regal history, and has many wonderful chateaux in the area to visit. One of the many Medieval villages near by is St Suzanne, here you can take in the breathtaking scenery or meander down one of the many walking trails. The caves and canyons at Saulges, is approximately a 15 min drive from La Lune, tours of the caves are available from April to November.
Booking notes
A 20% deposit is required for the self catering gite and the remaining balance to be paid in full 4 weeks before arrival date. A deposit cheque for £100 is required to cover any accidental breakages during your stay. This will be returned to you once the property has been checked. The gite must be left as you found it, or alternatively for 30 euros we can arrange for it to be cleaned for you.

Hi, we're Chris and Linda, we would like to introduce ourselves to you. For many years we both worked for major airlines, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways but 5 years ago we decided to give up our busy life in the UK and move to this beautiful region of Pays de la Loire.
We wanted a new challenge in life and after opening our small friendly B & B in 2006 life has just got better.
Our family love it here and enjoy coming to visit at least twice every year.
