Two luxury houses at Carcans close to lakes and surfing beaches

We have two houses in over an acre of land surrounded by open countryside. One house is a converted 'resinier's' cottage with three bedrooms and a good sized swimming pool. It has a small , basically furnished fourth bedroom in an annex and can sleep up to 10 people.The second house is more modern and has three bedrooms and its own swimming pool and large patio. It sleeps 8 people. Both properties are situated in a small hamlet called St Helene de L'Etang about 5 kilometers from Carcans. The houses are close to the largest freshwater lakes in France and the surfing beaches of the Atlantic.

Notes on prices
Chez Resinier
Bookings are usually Saturday to Saturday in peak season. Rental prices include bed linen and towels - one set per person and an exit clean. To secure bookings a 25% deposit is required by cheque or bank transfer and we are happy to accept sterling; euros or dollars. The outstanding balance is required 2 months prior to arrival. We require a security deposit of €350 or £300 payable by cheque two weeks prior to arrival. This is fully refundable if nothing is broken or damaged and the apartment is returned in a clean and tidy condition and use of the linen and towels provided has not exceeded one set per person, otherwise additional laundry costs may be deducted from the security deposit. Long term rental rates available. Check-in time is after 4pm on the day of arrival. Guests are asked to depart by 10 am so that we can make the apartment ready for the next guests.
We accept PayPal if you wish to pay by debit or credit card but there is an additional fee for this service of 4% of the rental cost. Full instructions are provided two months before the start of your holiday and these include detailed instructions for finding our house and using the pool alarm system which meets French pool regulations.
Chez St George
Bookings are Saturday to Saturday in peak season. Prices include gas, electricity,bed linen and towels. A security deposit of £300 per week is required. Optional exit cleaning at €50 Long term rental rates are available. Check-in time is between 4 pm and 7pm on day of arrival. Chez St George is a luxury three bedroom house built in 2000. Most of the rooms have French doors opening onto the patio/garden. The house is centrally heated and has three double bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and ensuite shower room. A second bedroom contains new twin beds and a third bedroom has two sets of adult sized bunk beds. There is also a separate bathroom. There is a large well furnished salle de sejour with an open plan luxury fully equipped kitchen. The salle de sejour has two three seater sofas and two comfy chairs and French windows opening onto the patio which make it a very attractive, light room. There is a TV showing UK channels and a DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, gas/electric hob, and a fridge/freezer. Facilities in the garden include a salt water swimming pool and brick barbecue together with extensive patios round the house (well stocked with garden furniture.) 1 double, 1 twin, 1 family bedroom. 1 cot

Each property is set in at least half an acre of its own land and is therefore sufficiently far apart to guarantee privacy if the houses are rented separately. There is a discount of 10% for those booking both of our properties except during July and August.

Close by is Golf de la Mejanne which is a challenging 9 hole course. Within 30-45 minutes' driving distance are Golf du Medoc with two 18 hole courses ( including the wonderful les Chateaux course) and Golf de Bordeaux Lac with two 18 hole courses. Location Information: Our houses are located between Carcans and Hourtin in the coastal Gironde. Both properties are situated in a small hamlet called St Helene de L'Etang about 5 kilometers from Carcans. The houses are close to Maubuisson and the Lac du Carcans and Hourtin and the famous surfing beaches of the Atlantic such as Carcans Plage and Lacanau. Also close by are the wine regions of the Medoc; further afield but still within easy driving distance are Bordeaux; St Emilion and Arcachon and the Pyla Dune.
