Outside
The large sunny garden is great to play with the family or just chill out in. There are 2 patios with table and chairs for eating al fresco and loungers for relaxing in. One patio is sunny and one is in the shade. So if you're like me, you can always find a shady spot to relax in. The pool (6m x 4m) to help you cool off and keep the children amused. There are 2 bikes for guests use. More bikes can be hired just 150m away in the village.
Coast/Beach
The nearest coast is 100 miles to the west. But there is a small beach by a lake just 2 kilometres from the house, this has an entry fee But 8kms away at Gourdon there is a small swimming lake within a park which is free.
Golf
Golf is available in beautiful surroundings at Vitrac, the next village along the River Dordogne (approx 5km). Visitors are welcome and can pay per round. Leaflet giving details is available in the house.
Travel
Bergerac airport is just over 1 hour.
Limoges airport is about 2 hours away.
It is an 8 hour drive from the Normandy ports, 9 hours from Calais or Boulogne. (all times approximate).
Distances
A local baker and a small supermarket are just 200 metres from the house. It is 6 miles to the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat. The chateaux at Beynac and Castelnaud are about 8 miles Monpazier, a hill-top fortified town, is about 27 miles. The Trogolodyte caves at Les Eyzies are around 25 miles and much much more.
Further details
We are just 2 minutes from the beautiful, tranquil river Dordogne where you can swim, fish or canoe. 15 minutes away is the medieval town of Sarlat with its wonderful old town centre to stroll through. It has a local produce market every Saturday and Wednesday.
Booking notes
We request a 25% deposit (non refundable) on booking.
The balance to be paid 6 weeks before arrival.
We ask for a cheque for £200 as a deposit against damage, etc. This will only be cashed in the event of damage.
Arrival, after 15.00. Please vacate by 11.00.
N.B. We normally let by the week except for last minute bookings.
