About the owner
Lisa and I have been living in Marseillan for 7 years now successfully operating our holiday Villa and Apartment which keeps us quite busy in between occasionaly sampling the local beverages!
I am retired from business and Lisa works part time locally as a guide for a well known winery here.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We first came on holiday to Marseillan in 1995 and fell in love with it’s timeless French charm and the beauty of the surrounding countryside and beaches etc.
Marseillan Ville is a picturesque, unspoilt old harbourside village located on the Etang de Thau (a sea water lagoon off the Mediterranean) which is famous for oysters and seafood. It is often likened to St. Tropez 50 years ago !
The Canal du Midi starts at Marseillan, which was originally built in the 17th century to serve the transport of the local abundance of wines via the Canal up to the Bordeaux Atlantic Regions of France.
You may have seen Marseillan featured on Chef Rick Stein's recent TV series where he travelled down the 'Canal' sampling the local culinary delights here!
Unique benefits of the property
Our Villa ‘Belles de Mai’, with its own private Pool, and our entirely separate Garden Apartment "Beau Jardin" also with its own private Pool, are located right on the Vineyards, 300 meters from the Lagoon, 1 km from the Port and 3 kms from the long sandy Med. Beaches, running between Sete and Cap d'Agde. Both properties are within easy level walking distance alongside the Lagoon to the village centre and harbourside restaurants etc.
There is an abundance of Sailing and water sports available in Marseillan alongside the famous Flamingos !
The well known International Marina and top class Golf courses of Cap D'Agde and Beziers are also nearby.
