La Maison Jaune is a light, bright and comfortable Provencal villa, in a rural location with excellent, open views. It is less than two kilometres from the village of Aups with its popular twice weekly market and a variety of good restaurants. The Lac de St. Croix and the Gorges du Verdon are 15 minutes away. The property has 2500 sq metres of attractive landscaped garden, with a 12 x 5 metre pool. There are two terraces with superb views both south and east: sunsets can be spectacular. The house is situated on a small private road, with no through traffic, making it a tranquil haven for a relaxing holiday: enjoy the local wine, a baguette and some pate and forget about the real world!

Preferred changeover day Saturday.

Outside
Secluded landscaped garden of 2500 sq metres with 2 terraces. The lavender looks spectacular in early July. High standard swimming pool 5 x 12 metres with pool loungers for 8.
Coast/Beach
60 kilometres from St. Tropez and its famous beaches (Plage de Pampelonne) and similar distance from Frejus.
Swimming and most watersports at the Lac de Croix/Gorges du Verdon.
Golf
Good golf course at St Endreol near Le Muy (approx. 35 minutes drive). Also at Barbaroux (with good restaurant) near Brignoles (about 40 minutes drive). Several on the Cote D'Azur. (Cannes and Mougins). Green fees reasonable, no membership necessary.
Travel
More or less equidistant from Nice and Marseilles airports (90 minutes driving).
Toulon-Hyeres 80 kilometres.
Car essential.
It is possible to put your car on the train to Avignon.

Further details
Aups is well situated, being between mountains and sea, both are within easy driving range. 15 minutes drive to the North you find the Lac de St. Croix, leading into the Gorges du Verdon: where many water sports are available: paddling down the Gorges on a hot summer's day is unbeatable. The village of Aups is famous for its truffle market in season and the twice weekly market has many good local products. In summer there are some provencal night markets.
The beautiful village of Tourtour 'village in the sky' is close by, one of the many hilltop spots where one can enjoy an 'apero' or a good meal. Fox Amphoux (the old village) is also worth visiting, and Moustiers St. Marie, on the northern shore of the Lac de St. Croix is charming, with its famous 'fayence' pottery in blue and white.
The towns of Aix en Provence and Marseilles are within 90 minutes drive and St. Tropez is 60 kilometres away.
Booking notes
To secure booking a 25% deposit is required. The balance of the amount is payable 6 weeks before arrival together with a fully refundable damage deposit of £500 or equivalent which will be returned as soon as the property has been checked after your departure.
During a two-week stay the house will be cleaned on the middle Saturday at no extra cost and supplied linen will be changed.
