Set in magical Lapland, our luxury log cabins are perfectly positioned to give you the best of both worlds. The cabins are within walking distance to all amenities in the village yet are nestled within the peace and quiet of the woods. A balcony at the back of the cabin provides the perfect setting to sit and relax with a glass of wine whilst watching the reindeer or red squirrels go by. The cabins are well equipped with all mod cons, to make sure your stay is comfortable whatever time of year. Ideal for couples or families there is something for everyone. Santa lives just a few yards away in the woods,his house is just visible through the trees. There are also cross country ski tracks yards away too. Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter all offer amazing holiday experiences.

Bedroom 1 downstairs has 2 twin beds. Bedroom 2 upstairs on the mezzanine level has 3 single beds and an occasional bed. The lounge sofa is also a sofa bed if required. There are safety stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs. Bathrooms: there is an en-suite toilet and wash basin upstairs and a shower room with toilet and washbasin downstairs. A private sauna is situated adjoining the downstairs shower room. Utility: there is a washing machine and drying room. Kitchen: fully fitted and well equipped, includes kettle, toaster, coffee maker, iron and board, vacuum cleaner, microwave, oven, grill and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer. Pine table and bench seats with views out to the woods. Lounge: corner sofa, separate chair, coffee table, TV/DVD player, radio/CD player, log fire, open views from window to woods. Door from the lounge area leads onto the balcony. Sit out and enjoy the sights, sounds and wonderful smell of the pine in the woodlands. |

Notes on accommodation
Cabins have underfloor heating and are wonderfully cosy in winter. Stair gates are fitted to both top and bottom of stairs. Final cleaning included in price. Towels and linen available on request if required.
Outside
A door from the lounge leads to a balcony overlooking the woods. log seats are available to sit and enjoy the setting. The front of the cabins also have an area where you can sit out, again with log seats provided. A separate store gives access to a ski waxing and storage area.
Coast/Beach
The large freshwater lake in the village provides perfect opportunities for canoeing and fishing. It has a small beach area. In the winter when iced over you can also ski on it. There are plenty of other lakes in the vicinity just short drives away, ideal for fishing and swimming and isolation. Most have barbecue areas and huts available for use. The nearby rivers, besides being good for fishing, give you the opportunity to experience white water rafting.
Golf
For the golfing enthusiast, Levi has plenty to offer. An 18 hole course is available for play throughout the day/night.
Skiing
Yllas is one of the the largest ski resorts in Finland boasting the longest runs and provides 43 slopes suitable for all levels. Ski schools ,shops, ski rental, restaurants, cafes and bars are all provided. Night lighted routes. Lifts are mainly button and T bar with Gondolas now available on the Yllasjarvi side of the fell. Snow boarding. A children's separate 'ski world' area for safe fun. Ski passes, lessons and equipment hire is inexpensive. Slopes are not crowded and are relaxed and friendly. The free ski buses leave from the end of the road just 5 minutes walk. Cross country skiing tracks cover 320km of groomed tracks around the village, 38km of which are floodlit. The tracks are just yards from the back of the cabin.
Travel
The nearest airport is Kittala (45km). During the winter season charter flights are available direct from the UK.Buses/taxi's are available from the airport. At all other times flights go via Helsinki to Kittila (Finnair/BA). Taxis can be arranged or a hire car if required. You can take a cheap flight with Ryanair to Tampere and then catch the overnight sleeper train to Kolari. (40km). There are also a number of alternative flight options, please ask for details.
Distances
The village of Akaslompolo has all amenities within walking distance. The ski slopes are 4km away with regular free ski buses. Yllas Jarvi is the next village the other side of the fell also reached by ski bus. Kittila (45km) and Kolari (40km) are the nearest towns. A larger variety of shops and Banks are available here. The Swedish border is 50km away.
Further details
Akaslompolo is the perfect friendly village. Home to Santa and his helper elves in the winter months, and plenty of skiing, husky rides, snow shoe treks and visits to reindeer farms to name but a few activities. A perfect hiking, biking, fishing retreat in the summer months, when the weather can be quite warm. Lots of hiking routes are mapped out and signposted. You can travel to the top of Yllas Fell in the new gondolas with your cycle and then experience the thrill of cycling back down! 'Ruska' time (Autumn) is particularly scenic and well worth a visit. The colours are amazing. During the Winter months the sun doesn't rise fully giving the magical grey light. On a clear night you could well see the Northern Lights. In the summer months the sun doesn't set therefore it is daylight 24 hours! Lots to do any season, a truly magical place to be. There is something for everyone.
