Further details
Lapland is well known as the home of Santa Claus and his house in the village is less than 100 metres from the cabin. It is possible to visit him in his workshop, his elves wander through the woods and his reindeer graze outside the door. The village is well served with shops, restaurants and companies providing outdoor activities and excursions.
In winter it is possible to ski (downhill or cross country), snowboard, hire snowmobiles, take a husky safari or visit a reindeer farm or simply toboggan or walk in the snow.
In summer the weather is surprisingly warm beneath the midnight sun. The deserted fells provide endless opportunities for walking, cycling and horseback riding, whilst dinghies and canoes may be hired on the lake. The lake is an ideal spot for fishing and also has a beach, and it is still possible to visit a husky or reindeer farm. There are tennis courts in the village and within easy reach are fast flowing rivers for white water rafting.
Lapland is a truly unique, totally unspoilt, all year holiday location.
