Guest bedroom with twin beds, ample wardrobe space, desk, computer workspace. DSL/broadband computer hookup. Bay windows overlook Basil Street.
Bathrooms: Modern, marble en-suite bathroom with bath and shower connected to master bedroom.
Second bathroom with a shower only, has also been modernised with marble floors.
Kitchen: Newly remodelled kitchen with granite and chopping block counter tops, new cooktop. Small breakfast area, refrigerator, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, etc.
Utility Room: Front hall closet has additional freezer and storage space and fax.
Living Rooms: Living Room with TV/entertainment centre and telephone answer machine. In addition to the local channels there are also a full variety of cable channels including CNN. Bay windows overlook Basil Street.

Outside
The Knightsbridge tube stop is a 1/2 block walk, and is a direct link to Heathrow Airport in under an hour. There are also several museums that are within walking distance, as is Hyde Park. You are steps away from Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Gucci, Lalique, Max Mara, Chanel, and all the other high end and local shops on Sloane Street and Brompton Road. Taxis are readily available.

Travel
For those who travel light, the tube (subway to Americans) is the fastest and least expensive way to come from the airport. It is difficult if you have a lot of luggage. The tube stop is only half a block away but does involve stairs. A taxi can be obtained from either Heathrow or Gatwick airports. Mention Harrods and they will know exactly where to go.

Distances
The apartment is a nice walk from the Museum of Natural History, which has marvelous exhibits including an exceptional dinosaur exhibit. Also within walking distance is Apsley House, the home of the Duke of Wellington. Exceptional collection of paintings and decorative arts. Look for the statue of Napoleon done as a nude David!

Things to do - below are a few of our personal favorites.

Start with a coach trip to show you the highlights of London. The Harrods tour is excellent and the pickup point is 2 mins from the apartment. Book at the tourist office in the lower level of Harrods.

Wander through the amazing food halls of Harrods. See the old mosaic ceilings which are a work of art. Then explore the other floors of this one of a kind store.

Go to St. Martins in the Field, Trafalgar Square, for wonderful classical candlelight concerts on Friday night, and lunch in the crypt with time out for brass rubbing.

Bermondsey Antique Market is an early Friday morning market frequented by many antique dealers. Dealers arrive about 4:00 am but the market is open until about 10:00 am. It’s difficult to get to except by taxi but well worth the trip. Portobello Road is a Saturday market that is packed with people and one always finds some little treasure. Great for people watching.

The Tate Museum is especially fine and don’t miss the new Tate Modern.

Attend services at 10:00, Sunday mornings, at Westminster Abby. The boy’s choir brings chills. Walk from there to view the Houses of Parliament.

Take boat trip down the Thames to Kew Gardens for a fantastic day walking through the beautiful gardens, or to Hampton Court, for a tour through the palace of Henry VIII. You can take a train home.

Take a day train trip to Bath and see the Roman baths and antique alleys (quite a long day.) Or go to Brighton to tour the exotic pavilion and take the sea air.

Explore Covent Garden during the day for shopping and during the evening for trendy nightlife. Stop in any attractive pub for lunch.
