Sefton House is a self catering property centrally located in the coastal village of Alnmouth in Northumberland. We have seven bedrooms ranging from singles to luxurious double's with en-suite, all have been furnished and decorated to an extremely high standard. Alnmouth is a small picturesque village with a variety of restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and gift shops. There are two golf courses, one a 9 hole links course with spectacular views over the golden sandy beach and the other an 18 hole championship course.

Coast/Beach
The quiet long golden sandy beach is only a couple of minutes walk away & is perfect for a romantic picnic or stroll and is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle. A beautiful rural setting and plenty of bird watching opportunities along the sand dunes makes Almnouth beach one of the finest in Northumberland.

Golf
Two golf courses are available in Alnmouth, the original golf course, which had 18-holes, was formed in 1869 and was designed by the famous golf professional Mungo Park (making it the second oldest course in England). At a later date it was split into two courses,
Alnmouth Village Golf Club, a fine nine-hole course adjacent to the beach, the view from the 7th is outstanding on this beautiful links course.
Alnmouth Golf Club, a challenging 18-hole course with an excellent layout and panoramic views, the course being located at nearby Foxton Hall.

Travel
The nearest airport is Newcastle International Airport approx. 45 minutes drive away. Alnmouth Train Station is a 10-15 minute walk through the village & is located on the main North Easten Line providing links to Newcastle, local towns such as Berwick & Morpeth & further afield such as Edinburgh & York and London.
There is also a good local network of local bus services, with a bus stop right at the top of the street.

Distances
The nearby town of Alnwick is a five minute drive away & is dominated by the medieval castle, home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. The castle, open to the public, recently found fame as the setting for the Harry Potter movies. Also located here is The Alnwick Garden, a spectacular new garden within the castle grounds, and features water displays, a newly opened pavilion and the largest tree house in Europe. The garden is open every day of the year except Christmas day.

Further details
Alnmouth has a number of great cafe's, pubs & restaurants & a local grocery shop. Alnwick has a full range of high street shops, supermarkets & banks.

"lovely comfortable rooms with all facilities. A great location in a quiet street, a short walk from pubs and the beach. Top notch accommodation in a lovely part of England."

"The bedroom was decorated in such a lovely way and had its little quirks. We even had hot water bottles in the wardrobes incase we got cold. I'm very fussy with beds and bedding and often struggle to sleep in hotels but I was very impressed. The beds were very comfy and I didnt want to get up in the mornings because the bedding was so lush. The extra fluffy blankets were a nice touch too.
The bathroom was even more impressive than the bedroom. For a start it was huge with both a free standing bath and seperate shower and all the other things in there just added to its character... I could go on but then I'd ruin the other lovely things you'll find for yourself and want to rave about."

About the owner
As a child I spent many wonderful holidays in Alnmouth with my family. When I became a mother, I could think of nowhere better to raise my children than here!! I now live in Alnmouth with my two children, Isabella & Matteo. There is so much to do in the area. We spend most of our time on the beautiful beach! I am 'an outdoors person' & love walking and cycling... & I have even tried surfing! It was due to the huge variety of activities in the area that I decided to open Sefton House as a B&B. It became very popular very quickly with many visitors returning time & time again! They then began to ask if they could rent the entire House for special holidays & family occasions. This is when I decided to offer Sefton as a Holiday Rental. I look forward to hearing from you, Simone.
