The property is situated in the delightful village of Broadwindsor, in West Dorset, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area is characterised by pretty villages, delightful rolling hills with excellent walking. The village benefits from a pub which serves food, a village shop and craft centre, all within walking distance of the cottage. The village is approximately 7 miles north of Bridport and 14 miles from Lyme Regis. The coast is the only World Heritage Site in England and is known as the Jurassic coast. There are numerous beaches a short drive away, including the National Trust's, popular 'Hive Beach'. There are a number of excellent dining pubs and restaurants within the surrounding area. These include a restaurant in Beaminster, run by the winner of 'Masterchef 2009' and Hix Oyster and Fish House in Lyme Regis. The area has also been popularised recently by the TV series 'River Cottage'.

Outside
To the rear of the property is a patio area which is attractively planted, accessed via 5 steps. Table and chairs are provided, with a BBQ area. The patio overlooks fields and well kept allotments.
Coast/Beach
Various beaches are nearby being approximately 7 miles from the Jurassic Coast, which is famous for its fossils. There are beaches within a 15 minute drive, including West Bay, Hive Beach and slighly further a field, including Lyme Regis.
Golf
There are a number of golf courses within a short drive, including Bridport and Lyme Regis. These courses have fantastic views overlooking the sea.
Travel
Mainline train station at Crewkerne (6 miles), with direct services to London Waterloo.
The nearest airport is Exeter (35 miles).
There is a ferry port at Weymouth (30 miles), providing services to mainland Europe, Jersey and Guernsey.

Broadwindsor is a conservation village, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a pub in the village serving food, together with a village shop and craft centre, which also has a cafe. From the village there is great walking, up to Lewesdon Hill, being the highest point in Dorset and owned by the National Trust. Pilsden Pen is an ancient hill fort also walkable from the village and from the summit there are spectacular views over the countryside towards the coast. Beaminster is a small historic town having a number of interesting shops, including gift and art shops, bank and restaurants. Bridport has a wonderful arty atmosphere and also has a good selection of shops and has a weekly flea market.Larger supermarkets are available in Crewkerne and Bridport.
