The Grove forms part of the Springfield Farm Estate and is a fully self-contained 4 bedroom house with its own terrace overlooking the lake. With two double bedrooms upstairs with their own shower room and a master double and twin downstairs with large family bathroom, The Grove is equally suited to two families sharing the kitchen, dining and sitting rooms on the ground floor. It was converted in 2008 and has all you would expect from a high quality holiday home together with beautiful furniture - much of it hand-picked from France. There are walks from your front door in every direction across the Mendips behind you or down through the Chew Valley in front. There is superb fishing available on the lake as well as sailing and bird-watching. Golf, equestrian pursuits, rock climbing and caving are all available within ten minutes and with Bath and Bristol only 25 minutes by car, you'd struggle to find somewhere better positioned for all you want to do on holiday.

Accessibility
The Grove is not suitable for those with mobility problems.

Outside
Outdoor terrace at rear through French Doors with panoramic views of Bath, Bristol and Chew Valley Lake. The terrace sits within a lawned area. In total there are 20 acres of private land at Springfield Farm with public footpaths leading both down through the valley and back up towards the Mendips. Just take a seat on the terrace (table and benches provided) with a glass of wine and a barbecue and take in the view. You will not be disappointed - it is widely recognised as the best view in the county. At the front of The Grove is a gravelled driveway with further parking for up to four cars.

Lake is within 5 minute drive.

Golf
Golf available nearby within a ten minute drive. Other activities - sailing, fishing, birdwatching, riding, potholing, rock-climbing all available within a ten minute drive or less.

Further details
There are superb restaurants and pubs within a close proximity of the Grove - in Wells, there is Goodfellows (with resident Michelin starred chef Adam Fellows) and The Old Spot. Local pubs include The Waldegrave Arms, The Castle of Comfort and The Kings Arms at Litton (all 5 mins) which have excellent beer, wine and food.

Booking notes
Changeover day is Saturday. 10% deposit on booking with balance required 6 weeks prior to date of stay. Additional returnable breakages deposit of £250 payable when staying. The Grove is a non-smoking environment. Sorry - no pets.

About the owner
Neil is a marketing strategist working with some of the UK's best known brands. Having taken three years out to complete the renovation of Springfield Farm he's now back at work with leading UK charities and retailers - he'd really rather be a rock star. Liz is a keen gardener - she was recently part of a team winning Gold at Chelsea and the centrepiece garden at Hampton Court - both in 2011. She divides her time between establishing the gardens and woodland at Springfield and looking after our three children.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
With Neil having grown up in the Chew Valley and Liz having lived all her life in rural Somerset, it was a natural choice. As soon as we saw the views from Springfield Farm, we knew we had to try and convert the buildings into something worthy of the location. It's position overlooking the lake and across the hills and valleys to Bath and Bristol is truly breathtaking - in all honesty, the photos simply do not do it justice!

Unique benefits of the property
There's little doubt that if you want to explore the best things that Bath and North Somerset have to offer, you will be in the best possible place to do so. Combine that with an exceptional place to stay, the only struggle you will have is whether to stay in or go out. A browse through the comments that our guests have made about staying here since we opened in April 2009 is a better indication of what it is really like than anything we can say.
