The Garden Cottage is newly converted and provides a very cosy base from which to explore the area. It sits in unspoilt and beautiful sheep farming countryside, there are Red Kites flying over the garden almost daily, and there are various secluded places in the garden to relax with a glass of wine and listen to the birds. Many walks can be taken from the cottage, there are green lanes and lots of public footpaths in all directions, and the long distance views are stunning. Apart from the attraction of the Yorkshire Dales, there are many cultural and historic places to visit in the area, including the ancient monastic sites of Rievaulx Jervaulx Bolton and Fountains Abbey. The RHS gardens at Harlow Car are only a few minutes away by car, where there is also one of the famous Bettys teashops, another one also in Harrogate. The beautiful east coast resorts of Whitby Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay are within a 2 hour drive and easily accessible for a day's visit.
