Here are some of our top tips:
Eden project (of course!) - about 15 mins drive.
Take a River trip, it’s great fun and is one of the best ways to see Fowey. Padstow is only half an hour away.
The Hall Walk is a beautiful route along the estuary taking in both Fowey ferries and with pubs at either end!
Fowey Fish sells locally caught fresh fish, and stocks a great selection of wines. Nile’s bakery sells fresh bread and great cakes! Fowey has a large number of places to eat, from cafes and pubs to Michelin stars, here are just a few –
Pinky Murphy’s – shabby chic cafe, try the Pinky’s Plater.
Brown Sugar – a must for any pancake lover.
The Ship Inn – Fab for a winter’s evening in front of the fire.
The Galleon – river views and a pool table!
The Ferry Inn, Boddinick – take the ferry from Caffa Mill, for the best view of Fowey with a pint in hand.
Sams- for the best burgers. The Other Place – downstairs for fish and chips cooked to order, up stairs a lovely restaurant and one of the few that will let you book.
Nathan Outlaw at the Marina Hotel – for Michelin stars.
The Galley at the Gallants Sailing Club – perfect for lunch with the papers, while the kids learn to sail.
