Jerry and Ben's Cottages are found in the hamlet of Hole Bottom at the end of a quiet single track road. They are set in two acres of private grounds and overlook Hebden beck and its wonderful valley. You can enjoy a peaceful holiday here with many walks from your cottage door. Hebden, with its excellent pub, cafe and village shop is an easy walk away. Our unusual name comes from a novel written here in 1920. We have been a family run business for 37 years and are still owner maintained and Fiona and her family live nearby for help and holiday advice.

High Close Studio
Available for weekends and short breaks all year.
Weekend - minimum 3 nights for £130. Midweek break - Monday to Thursday for £130. Whole week for £260.

Changeover day
Friday changeover day. 3pm arrival and 10am departure times.
Weekends available between October and Easter or last minute by arrangement.

A spacious 4 bedroom cottage perfect for gatherings of family and friends. 1 double bedroom downstairs and 1 double, 1 twin and 1 triple (single and bunk beds) upstairs. 2 cots also provided. A shower room with wc and washbasin downstairs and bathroom with bath/shower, wc and basin upstairs. Open plan kitchen/diner with double oven, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. Pine tables with chairs and benches provide flexible seating for up to 12 people. There are large comfy sofas in the sitting room with gorgeous views and french doors leading onto your terrace. There is a cosy snug with large digital television with DVD and video. Internet access.
No smoking. Regret no pets allowed.

Mamie's Cottage was built in 1675 and has been carefully renovated to retain its character and sense of history. A stone flagged boot room leads into a cosy sitting room. There is a wood burning stove, comfortable sofas and a television with DVD. The kitchen looks onto your private garden and contains an electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. Washing machine and drying racks available in laundry room. Dining room is light and has superb views. Door leads onto your own terrace. There is a downstairs shower room with WC and basin. The main bathroom with bath, WC and basin is upstairs. 3 bedrooms: A small twin room with one full size single and one pop out bed for children only, a double room and a larger room with 6ft double bed (space for a cot in this room). No smoking. Regret no pets allowed.

Robbin Middle has a spacious kitchen/dining room with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. At the rear of the cottage is the bright sitting room. There are comfortable sofas and a television with DVD. The room enjoys views over our grounds and up the valley. French doors lead onto your small terrace. The two bedrooms are upstairs: a spacious double room and a small twin room (best suited for 2 children) with 2 single beds and chest of drawers. There is a WC and basin upstairs and the main bathroom with shower/bath, WC and basin is downstairs. No smoking. See owners website for when pets allowed.

High Close is a small studio perfect for 1 or 2 guests (it is popular with guests who like to be out and about most of the day or those "escaping the family" in our other cottages!). We have even had writers in residence up here!
The flat is reached up an exterior stone staircase. There is a kitchen/dining/sitting room with electric oven and hob, fridge with ice box and microwave. There is a shower room with wc and basin. The bedroom has a 5ft double bed, clothes storage and your television.
No terrace, but access to our 2 acres of grounds. Not suitable for young children. No smoking. Regret no pets allowed.

 

Notes on accommodation
The cottages share the following features: oil fired central heating and constant hot water. Free wifi internet access. Non smoking. All bed linen is provided and beds are made up for your arrival. Please bring towels unless you are travelling from abroad. The cottages are great for children. But we cannot offer secure walled gardens for them. This is a wild playground! There are stone steps and raised areas in our gardens and terraces and the beck can be fast flowing. Young children will need supervision.

Accessibility
The cottages are in a very rural setting and road outside cottages reflects this! There is one step up from road to the cottages and then each cottages has one step up to its door. Paradise End has a downstairs bedroom and small shower room, but has not been specially adapted for wheelchair users.

I would recommend use of a car - but several guests have stayed using public transport alone.
Nearest station: Skipton (9 miles)
Bus Service: Skipton to Grassington (2 miles) or Hebden (1/2 mile).
Nearest airport: Leeds/Bradford (20 miles).

Distances
Nearest pub, shop and cafe in Hebden is half a mile away.
Nearest shopping in Grassington (pubs, restaurants, butchers, deli). Skipton (9 miles) large popular market town.

Further details
Jerry and Ben's Cottages are in Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The landscape is a mixture of rugged hills, open moorland and beautiful lower valleys and hay meadows. Walkers are spoilt for choice! From the cottages you can walk to Grassington - a charming large village with a cobbled square and many fine pubs and cafes. Or head down the river Wharf to Burnsall and Bolton Abbey.
Children can be kept entertained at our steam railways: Embsey and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway and the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. Hesketh Farm Park is popular with little ones and the exploring the show caves at Stump Cross Caverns and at Ingleton and Clapham can keep the older ones happy.
Further afield York (Minster, Railway Museum, Yorvik Museum and much more) is just over an hour's drive away.
