Bertie's Barn has two bathrooms, one downstairs, and is suitable for the disabled with easy walking access. Both the cottage and barn are situated in a very peaceful rural hamlet, deep in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. There is a quiet network of road and footpaths with good local walking and cycling. Southwold is only 10 miles away, and the RSPB Reserve at Minsmere is 12 miles. Lying 5 miles distant are the market towns of Bungay, Halesworth and Beccles, with a superb selection of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, antique shops, theatre, cinema etc. A 30 minute drive takes you to the city of Norwich for excellent shopping, theatre, castle museum and cathedral. Pub 1 mile.

Notes on accommodation
Both properties are suitable for families with children. Each has a small, enclosed garden and shared use of a picnic/play meadow. Electricity is included in both properties, and full oil central heating. (Bessie's Cottage £25 pw, short breaks £15, extra and p.o.a.) There is parking for 2 cars.
Accessibility
Bertie's Barn has easy access, and is suitable for wheelchair users completely on the ground floor.
Outside
Both properties have a small garden and shared use of a picnic/play meadow. Each one has garden furniture and a BBQ, and Bessie's Cottage has use of an outdoor badminton/volleyball net.
Coast/Beach
Ideally situated for exploring the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The beautiful sandy beaches at Southwold with its pier - 10 miles, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness - 15 miles, and Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Coast from 20 miles away.
Golf
Halesworth Golf Course (18 Hole) 5 miles. Southwold Golf Course (18 Hole) 10 miles. Beccles Golf Course (9 Hole) 5 miles.
Skiing
There is a dry ski-slope at Norwich, at a distance of 30 miles.
Travel
Nearest airport is at Norwich - 30 miles. There is a railway station at Halesworth - 5 miles. The use of a car is recommended.
Distances
The nearest market towns are Bungay, Beccles and Halesworth, all about 5 miles away, with a superb selection of shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, antique shops, theatres, cinema etc. Many places of interest, including castles and stately homes with English heritage and The National Trust, Pleasure wood Hills Theme Park, Sutton Hoo, Adnams Brewery etc.
Booking notes
Bookings are Friday to Friday. Short breaks subject to availability. A payment of £100 deposit secures the booking, with the remaining balance payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday.

About the owner
Weavers Cottage belongs to our son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Liz, who are in New Zealand at the moment. We are renting out the cottage for them in the hope that one day they will return!! Lee and Liz lived in the cottage for about five years after they were married, and so it is a fully equipped and thoughtfully designed family home with lots of extras not usually found in holiday accommodation.
My name is Joyce, and I caretake the property with my husband Paul. We have taken many, many self-catering holidays over the years with our children (now all sadly grown-up!) and so we know exactly what we like to find on arriving at a holiday home and use that experience to ensure that our guests feel comfortable and completely enjoy their stay with us.
