Whitstable beach and fishing village is 1 hour and 40 miles from Greenwich. Eat at the famous Whitstable oyster house, on the beach.

Nearest airports: Gatwick, Stansted and Luton - approx 40 minutes by train.
Heathrow - 35km / London City Airport - 8km.
Nearest ferry ports: Dover 115km / Folkestone 125km.
Nearest station: Greenwich Overground and DLR to London and Canary Wharf, 200 metres from Ashburnham Place. Clipper river boats every 15 minutes form Greenwich Pier into central London. Travel cards can be used (Zone 1 and 2). Nearest motorway: M25 Junction 2 - 20 km /15 miles. Car not needed.

West Greenwich Village and all the amazing Historical sites of Greenwich are a few minutes walk from Ashburnham Place. Greenwich in Southeast London is home of the Prime Meridian - Longitude 0 - at the Royal Observatory, the spot from where world time, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), was first calculated. For hundreds of years it was from these eight miles of Thames riverbank that ships sailed off to trade with the rest of the world to build England's riches.

Some useful places to know in Greenwich: Greenwich Park and all historical sites is a must. There are 5 great places to eat in Greenwich, all within a few minutes walk of your apartment. Buenos Aires Deli, Royal Hill, for breakfast as opens at 8 am – 6 pm. 'Inside' restaurant in Greenwich South Street, Good Food Guide, Modern European, and great English Sunday lunch. Best in Greenwich and need to reserve. Spread Eagle Restaurant in Stockwell Street, next to Greenwich Theatre & Oliver's, French food. The Hill restaurant in Royal Hill. Oliver's Jazz bar in Nevada Street, Jazz every night at 9pm. Best bar and jazz, Greenwich, London! All offer a 10% discount to Greenwich Holiday Let clients. Davy's Wine Bar, Greenwich High Road (next to DLR exit), old English wine bar, no need to Book. Also, family shops in Royal Hill for bread, cheese, butchers, fish and vegetable shops. On Sunday's there is a fantastic farmers Market, fruit, cheese, milk, fish, meats and vegetables in Blackheath Village, behind the station, 20 minute walk, and you can get a taxi home! Sweeney’s for haircuts and massage hair wash, Royal Hill. Soma dry cleaners, next to Somerfields supermarket, Greenwich High Road, next to clock Tower. There is a Marks and Spencer supermarket, next to the Cutty Sark, open until 9pm. Good fruit, salads and prepared family meals.

Transport passes for London, buy for Zones 1 and 2. Use Thames Clipper, Greenwich pier, for travel into town rather than the slow Tourist boats and you can use your travel passes. Booking notes
Reservations must be accompanied by a deposit of 50% (Non-returnable in the case of a cancellation. We strongly advise you to take holiday insurance) of the tariff price, with the balance payable at least 4 weeks before the holiday commences. No refund can be made for a cancellation within 28 days of your arrival. The full amount is payable on reservation made 4 weeks or less before arrival. Telephone and email reservations will be held for 4 days.
