The apartment is situated on the top floor of a converted Victorian purbeck stone house, in a quiet location on rising ground on the southern slopes of Swanage. It was recently refurbished including a new kitchen and bathroom. It has a spacious lounge overlooking Swanage Bay and is a few minutes walk from the Downs, beach and town centre. The property is comfortably furnished and well equipped, is centrally heated and has a reserved parking space.

Arrival: 3pm Saturday. Departure: 10am Saturday.

Bathrooms: Bath, shower over bath, hand basin, wc, heated towel rail, shelving.
Kitchen: Fitted kitchen with fan oven, electric hob, fridge with ice box, washing machine/dryer, microwave, toaster, combi-boiler and carbon-monoxide detector. Fully equipped with saucepans, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.
Living Rooms: Lounge/dining room. Dining table seats 4 (can seat 6 when extended). One 3 seater futon sofa bed, one armchair and one reclining chair with footstool. TV with Free view channels, video player, radio/CD player, selection of videos, books and games.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The apartment is professionally cleaned after each booking. Duvets, pillows and blankets are provided, but not bed linen or towels.

 

Notes on accommodation
We take health and safety issues very seriously and have taken all precautions to ensure that the accommodation is safe and well maintained. The combi-boiler which supplies constant hot water and heating to the flat is covered by a maintenance contract with British Gas and is inspected every year (inspection certificate is displayed in the flat). All portable electrical appliances are covered by an electrical certificate issued in April 2008 and renewed yearly. There is a carbon-monoxide detector installed in the kitchen, a smoke alarm in the hallway and fire extinguishers in the communal stairway.

Accessibility
The property is on rising ground to the south of Swanage within ¼ of a mile from the town centre amenities. Convenient for access to the seafront, main beach, Victorian Pier and open Downland. There are three flights of stairs to the front door and no lift.

Outside
There is a reserved parking space at the back of the house. The parking space is off a narrow lane and might not be suitable for large vehicles. There is also parking usually available on the main road at the front of the property.

Coast/Beach
The Blue Flag award-winning sandy beach is within 1/4 mile of the property. It is a clean and safe sandy beach, ideal for families.There is a Punch and Judy show on the beach throughout the summer season and a children's playground nearby, as well amusements, shops, restaurants, cafes and the famous Swanage Steam Railway.

Golf
There are a number of golf courses in Dorset, the closest being the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club in nearby Studland, 3 miles away.

Travel
Although there is no mainline rail connection to Swanage, there are buses which connect Swanage with Wareham, Bournemouth and Poole where there are mainline stations. The nearest bus stop is within ¼ of a mile from the property. Wareham station is approximately 11 miles away, Poole 12 miles and Bournemouth 13 miles. The journey to and from Bournemouth can be made via the Sandbanks Ferry, which crosses Poole Harbour. There is a taxi rank by the bus stop in the centre of town.

Further details
Swanage is a small seaside town with a safe sandy beach and several good cafes and restaurants. There are a couple of supermarkets in the town centre: Co-op and Somerfield. Somerfield will do home deliveries. Although there is not a Tesco supermarket in town, Tesco will deliver in the area if you order online. Local activities include swimming, tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, fishing, horse riding ang golf (in nearby Studland), hill climbing and mountain biking.
